What is the best Chess program for the Beeb?

Postby Garrettimus » Tue May 19, 2015 12:54 pm

Dear friends, what's up?

I've been away from the forum because of my documentary, it's taking all of my spare time. :(

A friend will write a piece on Chess programs for my magazine Jogos 80. We will put several different classic platforms to play against each other.

In your opinion, what's the best Chess program for the Beeb (Model B)?

Thanks! :D

Thank you, my friends. =D>

Since my friend intented to use a chess program by Tandy ("MicroChess") for the CoCo, I ended up using Acornsoft's Chess. The Beeb won after 27 moves. :D

We will still decide what the next opponent will be...

When I was reading about "8 bit chess" recently, apparently Colossus chess beat Acornsoft chess by 16 games to 0

Although Acornsoft Chess was written by Nick "Orlando" Pelling so it does have one claim to fame!
