HCR ROM/RAM Box

Postby flash1965 » Thu Oct 25, 2012 5:38 am

Hi

In a recent bulk BBC bits purchase I got an HCR ROM/RAM Box.
Trying to find some fitting instructions.
I found this
http://acorn.chriswhy.co.uk/docs/Mags/A ... ection.pdf

But not the fitting instructions. Does anyone have one of these or know where I can get the information.

Thanks

Gordon

I've just done a quick trawl of my Micro User DVDs and it was reviewed in the March 1986 edition.

The review has basic fitting instructions - it says that the circuit board plugs into the right hand rom socket and the 40-pin socket plugs into the 6502 socket. I'd assume that the notches in the sockets should point North (just like the originals).

You then the replace the 6502 and any rom that was originally in the right most socket. It says the "other two twin sockets are attached to the two links at S21" - the polarity will be important so look to see if they are marked East and West.

Hope this helps - if you haven't got them already I can't recommend the Micro User/Acorn User DVDs highly enough!

All the best,

Rob
