Code box text colour suggestion/request

The original thread has gone stale (the poll finished last year), so I thought, why not pop up a new poll as there are a lot of members who have joined since the original thread was posted.

Hi! I've been an active Acorn enthusiast for quite a while now and I am thankful for the true spirit of community I found here at Stardot.

I have a small suggestion with regards to the "code" snippet highlight. It's lime green, its font size is small and therefore definitely hard on the eye.

May I suggest a less hurtful green, or perhaps any other (non-fluorescent) colour?

This we could do without much trouble, but I think we'd need to hear that it's something the majority would prefer. To that end, I've modified your first post and created a poll. If people want to vote to change it to one of your alternative suggestions they can, or they can cast a vote to say they'd prefer to keep the current green ... or choose to specify another colour entirely.

I've set it to run for a month. Let's see what the outcome is ...

What do people think about a darker green like this shade (004000)?

For comparison, this green shade is still a bit too light for me. (008000)

For me, either of the two darker green shades above, or the blue * example 3 is okay with me.

My concern about using blue is that it's the same colour we use for hyperlinks.

Is it worth putting these together as there was concern people might confuse them. Are you confused?

I have to wake this up.

1024MAK and I are exchanging large bits of machine code and I can hardly read it. Light green is not clear enough, and for my part, well, I'm not getting younger. Can we please darken it, please please please?

In this poll and in the earlier poll the results are clear. Forum members would like the code box text colour changed.
