BBC Master Turbo AIV (Advanced Interactive Videodisc)- LV-ROM 415/05

Here is the system.

BBC Master Turbo, 65C102 + SCSI (tested to boot but no guarantees, shows coprocessor as working)

Philips LV-ROM 415/05 (Advanced Interactive Videodisc) (not tested)

Philips Monitor CM8873 (Not tested)

An Ahkter UFD 2000 (5-1/4 40/80 Floppy disc drive + 20 megabyte Winchester Hard Disc Drive) (Not Tested)

Ford LV-ROM course, includes a folder with some software disks and the LV-ROM's (4 discs for the course but there are some duplicates (spares ?) there are 9 LV-ROM discs)

I have no experience with Acorn equipment, I have no idea what to do with this setup , I had to google how to reset the Cmos and a member here to inform me how to enable the coprocessor to see if it showed up at boot.

As such I will pass this on to someone with more acorn experience and possibly get it up and running as as such will soon be going up on eBay, unless a member here offers what I'm looking for (after a bit of research).

here are some more photo's of how the system was setup and the visual condition.

Ok, so it is now on eBay. I am not bidding as I don't have the space for this setup and it is impractical to ship overseas imo.

However if a Stardot member is bidding I am happy to support with (some) funds in the name of preservation, knowledge sharing and fun. :D

Hi, as in the forum rules above, this forum really isn't for promoting ebay sales. If you were offering it to forum members exclusively before placing on ebay that would be ok. We try and stick to this formula as forum members offer lots of help free of charge and it feels a bit grubby if that assistance is taken and then turned directly into a free-for-all on ebay. I note that it's already on there though - if you can name a price you'd be happy to accept and are willing to stop the auction if offered it, then I'm happy to let this post stand.

Good idea.
Btw is it listed on Amibay ?
Listing directly on Ebay is errr... surprising.

I was advised to place on eBay

I have a £500 reserve

There is 1 starting bid currently at £150

If a member here wants the system I will see how I cancel the eBay auction with 1 bid

£500 + postage for everything

I didn't put it on amibay as the acorn interest is low mostly amiga items etc and thought here would be more suitable but if I cancel the auction I will place there also
We have a rule at amibay no links to auctions only buy it now sales.

Thanks and sorry if I got it wrong

GBP400 would be nice for my museum ... You wouldn't have to ship it I'd come to your place ... if you agree to keep the lot for max 3 months.
I'd pay now of course.

the unit was collected a couple of weeks ago.

he was happy and I discounted the price (not out to make profit) so I'm hoping he gets it up and running and puts the pictures or videos up of it working :)

Thanks Sardine
I do have a Trackerball but has problems, only horizontal works.
At moment I'm using a SmallyMouse2. Its is a universal USB to quadrature mouse adapter for many 8-bit and 16-bit retro computers and allows the use of modern USB mice.

You can use the arrow keys and TAB and RETURN within the Domesday System to simulate the trackerball and buttons.

Also a Master 512 mouse works very nicely.

Hi Ian 'beebmaster' Wolstenholme
I wonder if you can help me out, I'm searching for a remote for the LV-415 system and would love to have a remote control for it and I hope you have a spare one you would want to sell.
Hope to hear from you.
Regards Michael

When I got mine, the trackerball was badly rusted inside but I managed to get hold of a similar trackball and did a transplant. There's one on eBay at the moment but the price is quite high (eBay item number: 263092737640).

I managed to find my remote control on eBay (I think on the Dutch site) and they used to pop up fairly regularly. However, they were often incorrectly labelled. Might pay to do a trawl through Philips remote controls every now and then.
