Hey,
WORM seems pretty perfect, except for the fact I don't know what a "dagget" is...

Hey hey!
**I WILL get round to finishing LORDS OF TIME.......**

as for RED MOON:
page 2 of the introduction (from the back of the box) has a "the" missing from "only source of magik in the land" - but this is missing in the original text.

keep all references to "moon" non-capitalized for consistency. (Or all capitalized as Earth and World seem to be). (it may be only Moon on page 5)

Change 1heir to their on page 6 of the introduction.
That's about it :D

Does anyone have the BBC inlay instructions for Starquake by Bubblebus that they can post here please?

regards,
Mick.

PS I have found some from the World Of Spectrum site, but there may be slight mistakes with some of the text, so just need to check and possibly amend.

Yes ... but my blinkin' scanner has just died!

EDIT - but I can compare with existing instructions - where exactly are they?

EDIT 2 - I worked off these ones: ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sincl ... rquake.txt

(On the BBC version the next block of text is all upper-case)

Message has just reached Earth of an unstable planet emerging from a black
hole somewhere at the edge of the galaxy. If the core of this planet is not
rebuilt it will implode causing the whole universe to go "Ka Boomf!" -
Strewth, a Starquake...

The Bio-logically operated being is chosen for this ultra-dangerous mission -
but why Blob? 'Cause of his mind blowing hybrid capabilities? Or the
artificial intellect of his anti-brain? Nope - 'Cause all the other guys have
pranged their spaceships. So Blob sets off for outer-space in his trusty ship
with just a flightboard computer and a galaxy A-Z for company - Gulp, is he
gonna succeed? - Will he even get there? - Or will the universe and Blob go
blip?...

- Gosharooties who knows? But all these and many more answers must be
questioned before it's too late!!!

[BBC version has loading instructions]

Hi Richard,

Can you confirm this sentence from the original instructions please:

"Once at the core you will notice it looks like a number of objects.
Collecting these objects and bringing them to the core will repair it, once piece at a time, until the whole thing is complete."

So... the core looks like a number of objects.
Collect these objects and bring them to the core... eh?

Ta.

**MICK - did you notice GOLP needs to be changed to GULP :D **

Hi, Lee.

The BBC instructions don't have any of that text - *just* what I've sent above.

The WoS text has a lot of blurb (including the text you asked about) - that is not in the BBC instructions.

So WoS instructions: ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sincl ... rquake.txt

On the BBC inlay, we start from the section with a title of "STARQUAKE" - everything above that is not on the BBC inlay.

Not sure if the GOLP was in the Spectrum instructions (or mistyped for WoS), but it is definitely a GULP on the BBC instructions.

(Pity about my #@!@$ scanner, it would take 5 seconds to show a picture rather than try and explain it in words!)

I have uploaded the LEVEL9 disc with all the current instructions.
LURKIO, could you make sure I have all the latest versions on this disc please :D
I am 99% certain I have, but, well, you know, just check

Also, are you on with any instructions at the moment Chet?

The next ones need to be "The price of Magik" and "Emerald Isle"
I would guess, if any, you would have started POM, so I will start Emerald isle when I get time.

Lee, I've been through all the instructions on the LEVEL 9 disc and made minor changes to all of the programs: this mainly involved turning the flashing cursor off, minor punctuation fixes, and tweaking word-wrap and paragraph spacing. None of it should be too controversial.

I've also gone through and corrected LORDS and EMERALD.

For LORDS, I've swapped in an alternative formatting for that long, mental poem, so that it now all fits on one screen, which will be useful if anyone ever actually uses these instructions to help them play the game: they'll be able to take just one screenshot of the poem (which I believe contains vital clues) instead of several. Anyway, have a look. (If you don't like it, just delete the line that calls PROCCHET and also delete all lines from DEFPROCCHET onwards.)

I've made corrections to EMERALD too.

All my changes are on the new disc I've uploaded here.

Hi Chet,
I am OK with the titivations 8)

Here are all of the adventure instructions so far:
INSTRUCT.zip
(87.56 KiB) Downloaded 48 times

If you wish to tart up the others, or even cut and paste the front end menu choice procedure to some of the longer Acorn ones, or, whatever else you might think would improve them, then it is fine by me :D

**pay particular attention to ARROW1 on the MYSTADV dsd as somehow it had become corrupted....**

One thing I thought, was that although the black and white instructions suit the black and white adventures, maybe coloured text may suit the Adams and Mysterious Adventures?

Also, How long did it take to do that Lords of Time graphic? I just had a thought :-

I've been through them all and just tidied them up a bit. I've also added an ONERROR trap-Escape-and-load-game to all the multi-page instructions, which is everything but the Adams ones.

leenew wrote: One thing I thought, was that although the black and white instructions suit the black and white adventures, maybe coloured text may suit the Adams and Mysterious Adventures?
Aaargh! Nice idea, but I can't face it! It was a slog getting this far, and adding MODE 7 control codes now would throw all the text formatting out of whack! But don't let me stop you!

I've attached the discs with all my latest changes.

I noticed, by the way, that the program for the Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole that you added to the Level 9 disc has an intro only, and no instructions...

You may wish to double-check ARROW1 from MYSTADV though, as I think a couple of those errors have permeated......

By my reckoning, to finish the Level 9 instructions we still need to type:

Gnome Ranger,
Gnome Ranger II: Ingrid's Back,
Scapeghost,
Lancelot,
The Archers,
The growing Pains of Adrian Mole,
Unorthodox Engineers, the pen and the dark.

I will start with "The growing pains of Adrian Mole" as soon as I can get a few minutes!

**EDIT** "Yes Prime Minister needed too? **
