My first time playing this one and my first impressions are pretty good! Shame about the controls though! Why not make it the standard z/x/*/? like most games I remember from bitd?
My first submission:

13080

We are gonig to have to be careful on this one as it's very easy to get a very high score without moving any further into the game that the secornd screen and simply killing all the enemies and flicking back to screen one, killing all the enemies, flicking back to screen 2 etc.

Result of first night playing, 14090. Frustrating at times.. Every now and then I can't find the safe or key/treasure no matter how much I wander around. Almost embarrassing

Love this game, great suggestion! My best so far: 17,130 on level 2, wiped out by the pink cyberdroids... I don't think I ever got beyond level 3 BITD.

I'm not sure this score should stand as I entered every room on level 1 so that I could map it. I also visited most rooms on level 2 for the same reason. I don't think it'd be as high if I'd collected the key and then went straight to the safe.

This game always used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. It's the only game that did, and I don't really understand why. I still liked it, though. Even now, I get goose-pimples playing it. Very odd.

Hints:
- The "wall-hugging" maze technique usually works pretty well on maze games, this one included.
- The enemies won't walk into you, so you can stand still and let them come up to you while you're shooting. However, they will kill you if *you* walk into *them*.

Got to level 3 - 26,820.

Slight improvement, I know I can do better.

To address the situation of 'mapping' the arena, nothing wrong with that. This game is different than many of the early 8 bit games in that it regulates point collecting by just moving you up a level within the level, in other words, the 'enemies' get more and varied. When you move up a level map you get extra dangers to face, well this game will do that on an individual level if you start collecting too many points on that level thereby making it much harder to achieve.

At first play, it seems like a nice little game. First game was over 10K, but each subsequent one has been a lower score than the previous one and now I have started to run in to the explosions, which also seem deadly!

This game gets pretty intense the further you get. On level 3 I found it's nearly impossible to progress through a screen without losing a life. Another tip is to pick up the potions for bonus lives. A map of level 3 would be really handy... My best so far: 27,700.

Yes, that's where you have to just bite the bullet and waste a game mapping things out. On the first level, it's pretty easy. Level 2 and 3 are really a lot tougher and by now you see what I mean by the game regulates scoring far too many points. On level one you can do that but as you progress past level one, the game keeps you in line.... I have seen level 4 a few months ago when I was playing this but it was a real pain to get there.... and I lost lives very quickly there.

28340. Only level 2 this time. By the time I finally found the second item, it was too tough to make it to the safe..

Just tried re-defining the keys in the emulator - that certainly helps.

Got to the end of level 4. Collected all the treasures, and made my way back to the safe screen, died before I could get to the safe :(

Not played this one for years, why did Micro Power insist on silly keyboard arrangements for games? (not as bad as Felix In The Factory).

This is killer when you get to level 4, and did I mention I was lost all over the place. Each level having 16 'cells' is harder than you might think....

I put together a quick guide to the scoring in this game:

Spinner - 20
Clone - 40
Cyberdroid - 60
Key - 100
Ring - 500
Pot of Gold - 1000

Killing all enemies in a room 250 (awarded on leaving the room, but not on completing a level). An extra life is awarded every 10,000 points.

And here are maps for levels 1 to 4:

Wow, it gets absolutely nuts in the high end of 3 with this kind of score..... couldn't quite get to the safe.... had a ton of lives but lost those quickly.

Ah well, another try, another day.
