Excellent -one of mine first, been years since I played this - the £5 Impact Games range was great, shame there was also 3 of them, anyway first score to get things going.

I'm not sure if I am getting the hang of it, it seems rather random!

EDIT: Oh, PM!

Bit of an improvement, i've noticed the game automatically starts at the highest level you get to, does this matter or should we be resetting to level 1 each game?

I would suggest that as you score resets, but the difficulty doesn't, you would be better off starting again, CTRL-BREAK, SHIFT-BREAK; when the competition starts in 25 minutes ;)

16650

The action seems random, so my only tactic so far is to blast away and prey.. I hope to improve, but probably not much.

Seems quite random as to how "hard" it is.

Hmm, your energy constantly regenerates (slowly). Using that to my advantage and progressing very slowly it was much easier to get a decent score. I didn't even reach level 2  Actually you should never leave level 1 since this is the easiest level

New high score, starting to get better at it now, I remember now, I actually completed this game back when I first got it, but couldn't remember (or believe) that I completed 255 levels in one go (unless I used Cheat It Again Joe!) but as it ticks off each level as complete, it's now obvious ! The levels get a bit repetitive I seem to remember and not much else happens, still a decent little game though.

Just a reminder to read the rules if you haven't yet. One should try to continually advance through the levels to achieve a good score. Staying on one level to achieve a high score is one of the provisons in the rules for making the game fair and also fun.

Thanks folks,

Ed......:-)

Eh? What? I'd better go and read Col's instructions!

Here's first attempt anyway ...

EDIT: got a bit further (and off level 1) - reading the instructions about the blobs to try and catch helped!

I'm looking at the updated hi score table.

According to the formula shouldn't for instance trickys score be

(32450/42010*50)+((7-2+1)*(50/7)) = 81,48

Or is my math just really bad? :D

No, your math is dead on. The formula has since this formula has been changed to =C3/rnd3ts*100 which of course provides simpler math but also a slightly better advantage to the leader (that would be you) so that's what we're going with. The formula you're quoting I guess hasn't been changed in the instruction page so that's what the real problem is.

I'll try to get that done so there is no confusion for those that have an eye to detail.

Thanks for pointing that out Tom,

Ed......:-)

Ed, when the rules post is updated, it should be explained that the calculation method has changed. Include the new formula, but also keep the earlier formula. If the date of the change is known, include this detail as well. Otherwise when someone looks back at previous threads, there may be confusion.

Every time I get to 20K, I get a couple of waves of cyan sticks with magenta blobs on the end and loose a life and then just as my invulnerability runs out, here come many red triangles to spoil my day! - I think my random number generator is set on "unfair"!

Ok folks, just figured out what happened. Tom was quite correct in pointing out the 'flaw' in the calculations. I thought I had the most recent of the spreadsheets with the updated calculations in it, that was not the case. I've made a slight blunder in that direction so, I will correct it, and put in the calculations as they should be and we're all good, no need to change what works and there won't be a change to the way the score has been kept.

My bad!!
