High Score Table - Game Requests

Postby sydney » Thu Jan 21, 2016 5:54 pm

If you would like to nominate a game for inclusion in the Stardot High Score Table then this is the place to do it!
Just post the game name and a link to a disk or tape image in this thread and Ed or I'll set up a new thread for everyone to compete in!

I'll add links every game nominated to this post so that it's easy to navigate the threads in the competition.

Cheers,
Simon

I'll get the ball rolling by requesting Plan B 2 for inclusion in the High Score Table.

Here is a link to the Plan B 2 thread: http://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=10648

I fancy playing something different now, so I am going to nominate Nevryon from the 4th dimension.

I was going to nominate Plan B but I think I'll get bored of more of the same so I'm going to nominate Chuckie Egg! We might get a few new faces with this one.

I'll get the new threads set up sometime today after the I've done 101 jobs the wife's just given me!

I think I've reached my limit with chuckie egg so I'm going to nominate a game I played loads as a kid - Warehouse.
I don't know if it's any good or not but I remember that I didn't get very far when I played it bitd. The main reason I struggled with it is the size of the game - 400 screen apparently! I remember that being plastered all over the packaging. The other problem was I didn't like making maps so always had to start from scratch. Plan B 2 showed me the importance of a good map when completing a game so that's my aim here, map and complete the game.

A little obvious from me, but may I nominate Planetoid and Guardian?

Cheers

No Problem! Defender is one of those games I want to love but it's just too bloody hard! Are there no other Defender clones on the beeb? Or are the others rubbish?

There is Gauntlet by Micro Power - I had it on the Electron, not sure if there is a BBC version but it was very good.

There's also the Gordon J Key-penned Dune Hunter, which appeared in the Micro User in 1987. It's not got the sheen of Planetoid but by magazine-published standards it's well above average - perhaps unsurprising, considering Key's subsequent commercially released material.
