Hi Mike,

I recently acquired a Superboard, see this thread:

Where do the extension ROMs plug in?

Maybe you could post a couple of piccies of your setup... :D

I bought the Premier Microsystems BASIC4 ROM back in my UK101 days. I do still have the 'docs' for it - actually just one double sided A5 page. I'll try to scan it for you over the weekend.

Don't have any of the others I'm afraid. I do have a few Premier newsletters/adverts which mention those others and hint at what they contain, but not really much more detail than was in the previously posted Your Computer ad.

Hi Dave

I have a SeriesII RevD Superboard that has a ROM expansion board (4 * 2K ) that plugs into one of the BASIC ROM sockets.
(Currently thinking of making another similar with added RAM)
I have disassembled the B5 ROM and sorted all command syntax but the PRNTUSNG command. Was hoping to find a manual or program listing that would shortcut the "head banging " involved sorting the rest!

... I will see if I can find the the link to these ROMs

Omerr,

It would be great to see some pictures of your ROM board.

Regarding PRNTUSNG, how far have you got?

There references around to other BASICs supporting PRINTUSING commands:

The 64k EPROM only replaced one of the 4 proms

Sorry, that was completely wrong having gone back over my notes and found the EPROM. Because one of the ROMs was missing I removed them all and replaced with a single EPROM, I created the image to programme it by combining copies of the four PROMs (available on the net) into a single chunk of code.

Do you still want it?

I haven't seen a repository of UK101 software. I'd love to offer a home for this kind of stuff at compukit.org if you wanted to send me copies.

Ian is there a link on compukit.org to this software ?

Could you host the Premier BASIC ROMs also ?

The ROM expansion board plugs into the BASIC2 socket with extender pins under the board. Silk screen indicates Northgate Computers. I don't know its origin, Premier or other?
I want to do another board using a cable and header plug to move the board back from the keyboard as you cannot put the case lid on in its current position!

Thanks Tim for the BASIC4 info and Dave for PRNTUSNG. I still get TM errors ??
Here is a pic of my board:

Hello

Anyone know what's up with the compukit.org website?

When I try and access the page all get is a screen full of text similar to:

"Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: group name must start with a non-digit at offset 8 in /home/compukit/public_html/includes/MagicWord.php on line 872"

You can still see some of the original webpage underneath but it's impossible to read.

I am using ie 11

THanks

Looks a version incompatibility on the server side - fixed upstream but the admin needs to do something. See

Hi Mike,

No, the ROMDOS floppy I had went with the UK101 in 1994.
I am sure I still have the paperwork somewhere and can scan and post it.
I am still looking for all of the replacement Basic ROM's to make my Emulated UK101, (Thanks Tim Baldwin), the latest bug free version.
The ROM's I am using at the moment still give the error messages with Bit7 of the second character stuck on!

Thanks for the Basic5 image.
Most people would burn ALL of the ROM's into a single EPROM and mod-wire the board to decode it correctly.

Terry.

Not sure which ROMs you're looking for but I believe the attached are good.

Does anyone have the manual (couple of A4 sheets) for the Premier ROM/EPROM board? Would appreciate a scan if possible.

I'm particularly interested in how the BASIC sockets on the main board are re-mapped.

@pernod - I can confirm the ROMS work. I burnt them into a 16K EPROM and they work!

I didn't doubt they'd work, I use them in MAME, just wasn't sure they were what you were looking for. The US set for the OSI are quite easy to find, whereas the UK set for UK101 not so easy.

Did anything come of getting Uk101 PCB's made as mentioned earlier in the post?

Yes, I had the Premier SEK in my UK101 and I still have the docs that came with it. I can upload a scan if you want, or was there something specific you wanted to know?

To install these in my emulator you either need to join them all together to make one 8K ROM that you can install with the 'rom.basic=' option, or you can install them separately at the right address with 'rom.A000=basuk01', 'rom.A800=basuk02', etc.

There wasn't a lot of documentation for this, just a small booklet mostly about construction and the 'POKE' commands to set the various screen modes. No schematic, I'm afraid (in case that was what you were after!). Anyway, what I have is here:

Thanks for the documentation. Though, as you say, not much use for emulation without schematic. It's good to know the location $de80 to POKE and what the screen modes are but would be more of a fake simulation rather than emulation without further details. Thanks anyway.

I have recently found a Monitor ROM Expansion board described in the November 1981 issue of Practical Electronics.
I have extracted the relevant information and created a PDF of the article.

I searched *. for any reference to ROM boards and decided that this was the place to post it.
