APDL has disappeared

Postby s1paulr » Mon Jun 09, 2014 1:38 pm

It would appear that David Holden's website at apdl.co.uk has disappeared. Anyone know what has happened?

The domain name is still registered to him, so it sounds like it's a hosting issue.

Yes I found that today. Thought I had mis-typed the URL.

That is sad news.

Both he and his activity supporting the retro RISCOS scene will be sadly missed.

I just saw the same very sad news on the riscopen.org forum. He was such a knowledgable and helpful chap. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

Hello everyone, I'm David Holdens cousin and it was me who found him passed away on the 15th May 2014, he had been recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver and lungs. The time between diagnosis and his death was just 6 weeks and has left his family struggling to come to terms with it.

The APDL website has been shut down for the time being, but the plan is to have it turned into a public library so that all the programmes and information is available to the programming world.

Several members of various forums are in touch with me as I will need an awful lot of help as computer programming is not my thing...... mad science is!

Also there are plans a foot that Chris Evans from CJE/ 4D will be helping deal with the huge amount of stock David had in his house.

Please be patient with me, I have a massive amount of things that need to be sorted legally to make this all available.

Also a massive thank you to Kim Faulkner who took the time to attend Davids funeral and pass on condolences from the on-line community.

Should anyone be able to help or make some useful suggestion can they email me at hilary.sizmur@googlemail.com.

Hello Hilary

My condolences to you and to all of David's family and friends.
Very sad news that his illness did so much damage in such a short time.

I'm sure everyone here will understand that after a sudden death, it takes time and effort to sort everything out.

If you need any help regarding the computing or electronics, I'm sure some members here would be willing to help. Just ask.

Thank you for joining so that you could post and let us know. It is much appreciated.

Mark
