Problem with Bullseye resolved.
Disc 053 now reposted.
1) Error in the Bullseye game corrected so you can now play through to the end.
2) The "Load New Questions Y/N" question being finally removed.
3) The inclusion of new inlay instructions detailing the whole gameplay.

Tested throughout on BeebEm and b-em.

regards,
Mick.

Just reposted Disc 037 due to finding a few spelling mistakes in the Centipede game.
Changed "Enable of Disable" to "Enable or Disable" and "Speed og ant" to "Speed of ant".

Mick.

PS Must have been one we missed during last years tidy up.

Just re-posted Disc 025 due to a forum member creating a M128 version of Rig Attack and sorting the flickering helicopter problem under BeebEm.
I have now been able to add this new code to the game and remove the need for the additonal BeebEm version for this disc.
Also I have added a routine at &1C80 to turn the cursor off when playing under BeebEm.
The BBC B only version on the newly posted Disc 025 works on both BeebEm and b-em and also on my real BBC B with Datacentre fitted.

regards,
Mick.

Just reposted Disc 017 due to...

1) Repton 2 being uncompletable due to fault in original tape version. Superior Software Collection Vol.2 version now added to this disc. Hopefully this is now correct.
2) Cursor off routine being added to Space Intruders.

regards,
Mick.

Just reposted Games Discs 14,15 and 22 due to the game speed of Electron Invaders, Guardian and Gauntlet being altered to run more closer to their original Electron Speed on the BBC.
Also altered the Emulator detection routine for Guardian to match the one used by Sutty for Winter Wonderland.

Sorry about the reposts, but I am trying to make the collection better and make each disc work universally under both BeebEm and b-em and also a real BBC B.

regards,
Mick.

PS More discs to follow...

Just reposted Games Disc 027 due to a machine code routine being added to Pharaoh's Curse to detect BeebEm and add code to bypass the LightPen routine, the game now works under both BeebEm and b-em so the need to 2 seperate discs is now longer needed so I have reposted the disc.

Just reposted Games Disc 046 and 049 as I have added the BeebEm detection routine to Alien from Space and Winter Wonderland so that BeeBem patches these 2 games and b-em allows them to run correctly. This removes the need for seperate discs.

This now means that all but 1 BeebEm only disc has been removed from my collection.
The one remaining disc is Disc 034 which contains FireTrack. BeebEm doesn't like the widescreen display on the loader and the original text doesn't fit so a BeebEm version was created removing "FireTrack has loaded" to "Game has loaded".
I will take a look at this over the coming months to see if there is room to add a detection code and poke the BeebEm code into the game if BeebEm is detected.

Again, sorry for all the reposts, but I am trying to make the collection better and universal.

regards,
Mick.

PS If anyone spots any errors or has any questions about the collection, feel free to add a post here.

Hi,
Closer than ever to perfection...

There are just a handful of problems to get to the bottom of:

Disk 032 Ally Pally has GRAPHICS PROBLEMS
Disk 041 The Big K.O. has GRAPHICS PROBLEMS
Disk 060 Dunjunz CRASHES (file not found at line 515) (SWR Issues)
Disk 070 (plus 072 & 074) Holed Out - Graphics problems (SWR issues)
Disk 088 Quiz Quest - Does Not Load on a real beeb from Datacentre
Disk 103 Sparce Invaders - Sound problems on real beeb - fine on BeebEm

And games with problems specific to Beebem:

Disk 025 Rig Attack FIXED!
Disk 027 Pharaoh's Curse FIXED!
Disk 034 Firetrack
Disk 046 Alien From Outta Space FIXED!
Disk 049 Winter Wonderland FIXED!
Disk 073 Shapes Game
Disk xxx Operation Safras

Could we start by looking at the one which I believe will be the easiest to sort out...

"Sparce Invaders" from disc 103
This gives Space Invader type sounds when played in BeebEm but on my real beeb with datacentre, the sounds are all wrong.
Can this be fixed? [-o<

There was a newer release of Sparse Invaders than the one on disc 103. It fixed a lot of problems with the original version, including the dodgy sound.

Since the Retro Software site is still down, I've uploaded a copy here.

Disk 103 Sparce Invaders - Sound problems on real beeb isn't fixed yet, until Mick includes the fixed version of game at disk 103!
At the moment the problem detected and found a solution, but not yet included to disk 103.

Hi all,

I will add the newer version of Sparse Invaders to Disc 103 asap.
Disc 103 was originally completed in 2011 but the newer version of Sparse is March 2012.

I have added the fixed version of Safras to Disc 107 and hopefully that disc will be ready for xmas. Just waiting on inlay info for Castle Raider and the complete version of Mountain Panic.

As for Ally Pally - I think code for the Datacentre is corrupting code for the games below &FF. It may be necessary to alter some of the gamecode to store pokes at slightly different locations.
Anyone up to the task???

Have I any chance to have access to disks with the commercial games?
Must pay someone? Who? How much?
I will be very happy if you can find a solution for me.
The completeness of this great collection is very important for me.

What info do you need for Castle Raider, exactly?

The info required for Castle Raider is simply some instructions.
I believe there are some over at AEW but my DVD disc has cracked so I cannot use it gain access as instructions are now only via the DVD for this site.

I can always add them later, but I was hoping to add closure to this disc by xmas this year.
Disc 108 which is due out later next year is coming on quite well due to all those Electron conversions.

Sadly, as these are new discs, I have included new titles obtained from the Retro Site. As respect to the authors of the games and the Site itself, I have not posted any newer discs here and will not until told by Arcadian that I can do so.

I may however, if possible, removed the Retro titles from these discs and post copies of the discs featuring the other games as a temporary solution. This will depend on how many of you are interested in the discs with the post 2011 games missing.

regards,
Mick.

Maybe Arcadian can determine a price for all the commercial games, for those who wants to have the collection complete.
First the payment via PayPal and later the extra discs will come with email. Is this possible?

Just to update...

I have now loaded the relevant disc images into my real BBC (with datacentre) via USB and can confirm that...

Winter Wonderland, Alien from Space and Operation Safras (which is on Disc 107) now work fine which means the new disc images are universal.
So are Rig Attack and Pharaoh's Curse.

Also working correctly are Gauntlet, Electron Invaders and Guardian.

As for Sparse Invaders - the sound on the new version is fine on my Beeb too.
I will repost Disc 103 at the weekend.
In the meantime, has anyone got the inlay instructions for Sparse Invaders as there is now room on the disc for them.

regards,
Mick.

PS as for The Big Ko on Disc 041 - as it works fine for BeebEm and b-em, is it just possible that all the ROMs in the datacentre BBC are interferring.
Is it therefore possible that...
1) someone copies it to a floppy and loads it into a real BBC that doesn't have any ROMs or datacentre in it.
2) is there a command to turn off all the unnecessary chips in a datacentre BBC?

I will try the DTRAP test on my BBC later this week.
Thanks,
Mick.

PS also thanks for the Inlay info for Castle Raider - I will type this up at the weekend.

PS At the end of the month I will post the newer discs minus the copyrighted material.
Could someone in charge let me know the titles NOT to include.
Mick.

Hi Mick,
Arcadian said to remove Krystal connection, Zap, Repton: Lost realms, and Mountain panic. (Page 6 of this thread on June 15th)
Cheers

Hi Lee,
Yep I saw that message from Arcadian, but what about Weenies and also newer Retro stuff such as Jsnake, Carnivale and Castle Raider as the Retro site is still down and I therefore cannot see what they are putting out on their commercial labels.

regards,
Mick.

PS I will be editing discs 105 and 106 over the weekend and hopefully posting them minus the titles mentioned by Arcadian early next week.
Hopefully in the future I will be able to post the complete versions of those discs once given the all clear by the copyright owners.

PS again...
I am hoping to have disc 107 completed by early December and I will e-mail you the disc so you can check the spelling in the instructions for each game.
I will then post this disc minus Mountain Panic on the forum and then start the final work on disc 108 which should be ready sometime next year as I am waiting for a AstroBlaster to be completed, but may have to remove that game before posting if that title too becomes a Retro (for sale) title.

Discs 109 and 110 have several old Micro User and Electron User titles on that have recently been discovered.

I will e-mail them too across to you in time.

Just checked Disc 041 on my real BBC and *DTRAP makes no difference to the graphics glitch in the Big KO. Strange though that both emulators have no problem with it. Could it be the datacentre causing the problem?

Mick.

PS Again, if someone could copy Disc 041 onto a floppy and load it on a real BBC with no datacentre and let me know the outcome then maybe this issue can be resolved.

I should be able to sort Disc 103 tonight, but first does anyone have any inlay info from the Retro release of Sparse Invaders that I can add to Disc 103. The Retro site is still down.
