Seems this uef is not 100% I see a lot of non standard block in-between not sure if you have the original wav file but the conversion to uef is not good.

Works for me in BeebEm but only if I set the tape speed to "Fast".

& thank you, think this tape has now opened up another can of worms with tape reading on BeebEm414.....
as, usually, bEm22 will read them much better, so this has thrown my thinking out the window.

so, if it can't read it at Normal tape speed, but with Fast, it's usually the other way about :-k
what the hell [-( ](*,)

Yes there are some funnies in BeeEm for example :- when it comes to tapes, if you create a .uef tape in BeebEm you can't read it in B-Em

LOL
O I noticed that you are missing Scr11, on the disc version that I have it does have a Scr11.
If you don't process the wav file correctly you can have a lot of problem converting it into a usable csw and/or uef file.

just checked .WAV to beeb, and Scr11 does not exist on the tape at all, ie Straight from 10 then 12.
I don't know history of this original tape at all, or could be like the disc, unreleased, DaveM/E can verify :?
noScr11.jpg

nothing wrong with my .WAV, I don't have a £3k program for nothing you know, to generate vinyl that gets pressed =;

okay just still find it odd that Beeb-Em will not read it at standard speed.

Ah, I may be able to explain this...

So, back in the day when I was collecting Acorn Electron stuff, and there was no real internet, and EUG was a post-only magazine that I would duplicate and send by snail mail blah blah...

I got the unreleased tape of Uggie's Garden and I thought hey up this looks to be pretty rare, I'd better copy it.

BUT...

I didn't do tape-to-tape.

I used a utility called Turbocon for the Acorn Electron. This loads in a file and saves it in a "turboed" format.

I used to have cassettes called 'Turbocomps' with all the games in my collection - they would load in about 50% of the time.

Hence, this is what I did with the Uggie's Garden tape - loaded it into Turbocon and saved it to the blank cassette. I recall sending Dave M the original about 10 years later but it was somehow misplaced.

Fast-forward another 20 years and I was looking for a cassette to send Castaway to Col and I just picked up one of the old C90s which I have no real use for now I do all my gaming via emulation. I copied Castaway to Side A, overwriting what was on there already. I noticed Uggie's Garden was on Side B so I said "Hey, Col, you could also preserve Uggie's Garden as well if you want."

So that's probably why it's "non-standard".

and Uggies Garden is missing the Scr11 file, if you type the password METRES it goes and searches for Scr11 which is not on the tape.
Here is a recreated UEF which also works on B-em and BeebEm (at normal tape speed  ) and has the screen 11 included.

Peter.
