EPROM Programmer collectors roll call

Postby Seldon2k » Sun Dec 15, 2013 11:30 pm

Hi all,

I have seen a number of posts where people are trying to find documentation and or software for old programmers.
I think it would be nice to take a roll call of who has what programmer, and accessories. I will start it off:

Micron (H.C.R. Electronics) for the BBC Micro, User Port, paperwork, and software.
GP Electronics EP-8000 Programmer/Emulator and documentation.
GP Electronics P-4000 Gang Programmer.
Dataman Gang-of-8 Gang Programmer and documentation.
ART EPP-1 EPROM Programmer with documentation and software.
Sunshine Expro-80 Universal Programmer with documentation, needs ISA card for PC.
CLK-3000 ISA Programming Card, No Info or Software (Help required).
Data I/O PAL Programmer Model ?.
Stag ZL-30A Device Programmer, minimal documentation.
STG Genius G540 Univesal Programmer, USB, documentation and software.

Microsystems Services ME10 UV Device Eraser.

I think that is all I have.
Terry

Technomatic EPROM Ryter - don't have the original software but works fine with the software for the Technomatic EPROMMER II. I've also an old RS 424-254 EPROM eraser. Both still working well!

Hi Terry

I've recently found an ART EPP-1 programmer hiding away in a cupboard at work, but unfortunately there is no software with it and the software that ART provides on its website only works with the later EPP-1F and EPP-2 :(

Is there any chance you could possibly zip up the software and make it available on here, please?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Dave

Stag P301
Wellon VP290

(I'm tempted by a batronix due to the availability of decent mac software to drive it though I'd want one of the expensive ones with MCU/PLD support so that's that unfortunately)

UPDATE:

I no longer have the MQP model 200, it has unfortunately met it's maker :(

I still have a few adaptors for it though, and they're now redundant, so if anyone out there is looking for any MQP device adaptors please get in touch.

I'm still looking for software for the Art EPP-1 too. It has to be the EPP-1 though, the software for the EPP-1F and EPP-2 won't work!

It also has Windows 3.1 and 9x software. I suspect the only reason it doesn't have more recent software is that it was old enough that it wasn't worth dealing with the update for Windows NT.

Also, looks like it's a serial-based programmer, and you could drive it from a terminal emulator (eg., hyperterm).

not looked closely but i think is has to do with the timerchip ah=0 , int 1a(h) , what is not working anymore. but maybe i am wrong. if i have only time :) , i will put windows 98 , i have still the cd on a machine .
on xp it can read a eprom but the programming do not work because you need 50 msec pulse ( which i think is timed with the timechip)

my apple ii programmer with i also wrote the 8088 software for , had the same problem , with a loop i made a waiting time , but the damn machines the instuctions did get faster and faster so my 50msec loop was not 50msec anymore :(

so if have time somewhere i will see the machine code progprom.exe . finding a good debugger ??

The only reference to an EPP-2 programmer I can find is the one made by Art Programming Systems, which is a serial programmer, and has a simple text based protocol and supports flow control. It'll do the timing internally, indeed the manual explicitly says in Appendix A, 'Any terminal emulation program using the RS232 communication port of the host can be used to operate the EPP-1F/2.'

mmmm, then i don't know why it is not possible to program 1 byte al all ? , reading no problem , but programming error no communication with epp ? so modern computers is not that simple anymore ? , communication with rs232 port changed ?
