Anyone actually interested in archiving games should have a look at http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43299. The good stuff starts at about page 3.

Having just my backside in gear and attached a disc drive to my Windows machine; I've been looking through the few arc discs I have left.

Some of these may be of interest to archivists, for example, I've got a full version of Starfighter 3000, where I removed the rubbish copy protection and set it up to work from hard disc/one HD disc. (Which even the torrent doesn't have - it has the demo and a protected version of the actual game, which never worked for me under arculator.)

I even left a comment in the !Run file about my displeasure over the copy protection:
| Gordon Key - learn to write challenging modules please...

Oh, what a card I was 20 years ago!

Dropbox no longer allows direct links so there's a new download URL:

Hi everyone.

It is my first post here and I registered because interested in RiscOS too.

Just wanted to ask: could you please upload 1GB hdf4 image with RiscOS 4.02 (or 4.39) too?

RPCEmu hangs when I try to upgrade 3.71 to 4.39.

Hi there, welcome!

RiscOS Ltd, who own it, make RiscOS 4 available for purchase for emulation, at a reasonable price:

On no account should anyone be uploading it here.

Indeed. This is why I used 3.7. It's probably still not legal to distribute, but as far as I know, there's no way to purchase 3.7.

Later versions are still available.

Certainly 3.7's successor is 5.x, and that's been released by Castle (whom, as I understand it, inherited all the rights from Pace) under a shared source license. There have been various arguments over who owns the rights to pre v4 RiscOS - suffice to say I don't believe that anyone has complained about 3.7 being made available.

News to me! I stand corrected.

I wonder how many they've sold.
