Looking at the time stamps for part1/2 they must have done that 5 mins after I left. Missed my 5 mins (seconds) of fame.

I need to come up with a project one day for one of these event, or maybe just look like I am doing something.

Thanks to all for a great weekend, especially jbnbeeb who put an unimaginable amount of effort into arranging the event, and because that wasn't hard enough the exhibition as well, which was amazing. I would recommend part 1 of the video above which I am half way though and is a walkthrough of the exhibition. Thanks to everyone who came and showed off their projects, even when I didn't understand it it was really interesting. I had the feeling I was the thickest person in the room! Thanks to Dave H for the scanner and the help with getting the audio recording working. Thanks to Sydney for reminding me to to a CTRL-Break after srload. Doh! and telling me how to use ADT. Hopefully I managed to shrink the list of software that needs archiving.

Yes had a great time, lots of new faces I didn't recognise, and some veterans I've not met before too!

Many thanks to Jason for the organisation, and also to the centre itself which I think was a pretty good venue, the fella running it there I found knowledgeable and friendly.

Cheers

I'm very glad I made the effort to attend yesterday. A great day. Great company, lot's of things to see as ever plus a great exhibition. And I solved a bug in my new MIDI player!

Well done to the two Jasons for an amazing feat of organisation.

And hopefully the interest means we will see some sort of kit out of your project. Even if we have to get Dave.H to solder the surface mount components for us! Was even more impressive in the flesh.

My first visit to the computing history museum and something acorn related in years. Last visit was Wakefield or similar like 10 years+ ago. My 5 five year old son, cousin 32, me 42 and uncle 60ish had a great time. Spent a lot of time on Sunday in the classroom with the abug guys. You guys rock.

I didn't pick up or remember any names. But special thanks to the guy with at least 3 bbc b''s hooked up with games he'd written himself plus the big archive on sd card. Plus everyone else and of course the museum staff in their bright tops. Oh and my surprise high score playing ye ah kung fu (well until it got beaten straight after)

Currently scouring websites to get a replacement bbc b for my son (well dad as well). Stupidly lost my tricked out bbc b that was in a viglen case had all the Watford electronics add ons and a collection of 600 games at a boot sale. Doh! Least I still have my A310 and RiscPc.

Hope you guys do another Acorn World next year... Same place

Thanks to all that made this a successful event enjoyed this one and actually got a load of stuff done.

Glad the turtles worked out shame about the length of bettery life, someone (not me) needs to design a fast charging circuit for the batteries, so that we don't need to charge them for 18 hours :(

Good to meet up with you all again, see you all at the next one.

Cheers.

Phill.

though i should say regarding Kieran, that would be the fastest taxi on the planet. "The Transporter" might be more appropriate...

A great event, thanks to all involved and especially the organisers.

I popped in for a few hours on Sunday. Many thanks to Richard (tricky) for a quick Sabre Wulf fix, letting my nephew and niece play his Frogger version and monopolising his time for an hour or two chatting about all things 8-bit. Great to meet Kieran too and put some faces to screen names.

Thank you all!

Me too - just a few hours on the Sunday - but nice to see some now-familiar faces again, even if I continue to struggle with many of the names!

I even managed to type in some random triangle-plotting in Basic - I think that means I did some programming...

Good to see lots of people enjoying the Acorn World exhibit.

Many thanks to the Jasons and everyone else for making it happen. And to sydney for sorting the T shirt!

Aah, the Proto-Beeb.

That brings back memories of a Saturday morning spent at Nottingham University watching a demonstration of the 'BBC micro'. Even though it was a Heath-Robinson construction it blew our minds with its speed and colour graphics. From that moment on I was hooked. :D

Yeah, Sarah Walker and me spent some time over the weekend extracting data off old machines and discs that Steve Furber had donated to the museum. Hopefully the museum will be able to publish some of it, there's quite a lot of files related to the earliest ARM development that have a bit of historical significance.
