Count me in please.
All weekend.
And if there is a curry in the offering , I'm up for that too.
If there is an option to pay double for a full table , say you are undersubscribed , i'd be up for that.

Going to be just a day trip for me, just the Sunday. Will travel over with Revaldinho but we won't need table space.
Re: May 12th-14th 2017 Cambridge ABUG & Acorn World event at CCfCH
I would also like to come along. In contrast to another comment regarding space, I came as a no kitter last time, expecting to perch on the end of a table with my laptop, but found I had half a table to myself. 1/3 would have been plenty and 1/4 would have been OK. I really enjoyed last time, so am looking forward to this already.

I'm really a virtual attendee too, as I don't think I'll be bringing any kit. Just hoping to chat, look and learn.
The only thing I managed to fix last time was a Sun workstation in the main museum hall!

Hi,
Sorry I have left this a bit late. I attended this last year and enjoyed it. Are there still places available? If so I would like to come on the Friday afternoon and leave on Sunday.

Re: May 12th-14th 2017 Cambridge ABUG (FULL) & Acorn World event at CCfCH
Hi all,
OK, given that Pau1ie and BigEd won't be needing table space set aside, I've squeezed in Jim at the end of the list. But I'm inclined to call the attendee list FULL now. If any people are unable to attend, those under Tentative/Reserve will be added in the order that posts arrived in the thread.
In the meantime, I met with Jason F at the museum a couple of weeks back, and we thrashed out a plan. Acorn World is GO!! on the same weekend as the ABUG meet. I've updated the top post with some details.. will paste here for convenience. I'm very excited about this; I'll be/have been in touch with requests of Stardot peeps to assist.
Acorn World
Planning is underway.
Acorn World will be an exhibit that tells the story and illustrates the history of Acorn throughout it's life. Alongside copmany history, there will be themes such as education, games , ARM legacy and retro software/hardware (mostly the work of Stardot people here - assuming they're happy to have their work on display). Besides all the computers and ephemera of the day like magazine articles, adverts etc, a key exhibit will be the Valiant Turtle which members of the public will be able to play with via Logo.
More to come on this, but in the meantime, the event is now on the What's On section of the museum website here http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/ ... -May-2017/

Re: May 12th-14th 2017 Cambridge ABUG (FULL) & Acorn World event at CCfCH
I might have a solution to our Saturday night food requirements. At the Teletext event, also at the CCH, the main organiser, who is a local, took us to this pub last night: http://www.the-geldart.co.uk/.
It is within walking distance of the CCH, they were happy to reserve a set of tables for us (we were at least 12), and they were happy for us to order food individually from the bar as & when we felt like it - this allowed people to mingle, chat & eat when they wanted without having to have an epic order for everyone and then figure out the bill at the end. The menu is slightly above regular pub fare - the fish & chips were excellent!
The only slight oddity was an insistence on a 50p surcharge for card payments, regardless of the amount. Other than that, would definitely recommend if people like the idea.

I am going to be near Cambridge that weekend so i shall be popping in on the Saturday to meet everyone.
No kit, it will just be a visit to put faces to names and see what you are all up to, plus see the Museum.
My first ever ABUG meet up so looking forward to it !

Re: May 12th-14th 2017 Cambridge ABUG (FULL) & Acorn World event at CCfCH
Hi all,
it's getting close to the Cambridge meet now. As well as ABUG, there'll be the Acorn World exhibition in the main hall. Myself and several other kind Stardot peeps have been putting this together over the last few weeks.
Rather than show you the floor plan etc, I'd like to keep it mostly a surprise. But I will say that we've divided it in to "history", "themes" and "modern". The themes cover uses of Acorn machines back in the day while modern covers more recent post-Acorn gear like Iyonix and also projects done by fellow Stardotters.
We'd like your help with picking software which could be displayed on the following machines:
- 2 Atoms (one with MMC)
- Electron with Plus 1, BBC B, A3010 (on the games table)
- Electron on history table
- Archimedes A310 (on the history table)
- BBC B with education software (what else would be good to show besides Granny's Garden?)
- Iyonix
So, from the list above, please can you post suggestions of what software to run? Try to think of something that you think will be visually appealing and fairly straightforward for the public to "get" (the machines will be hands on) and "shows off" the machine.
Note: we've already got Elite, Zarch and Domesday on display.
Thanks,
jbnbeeb

Hi all. Been busy recently and not about much on here.
But hoping to persuade the family for a nice day out at the Computer Museum (and the Acorn World event) and perhaps see some others wandering about. We did the robots exhibition at Science Museum recently and that was great.

Any of the top 20 games listed here:
http://bbcmicro.co.uk/about.php
With the exception of Thrust, Exile and Revs because they are too hard to pick up and play.
