InterWord Carrier

Postby NilByMouth » Thu Nov 16, 2017 12:59 am

Hi,

I was recently given a BBC Micro InterWord EPROM without the carrier. Is this of any use? Will I be able to get hold of a replacement carrier? Should I just erase it and use it as a scratch EPROM?

Thanks,
Malc

Hi, Malc . . . and welcome to the Forum . . . Enjoy . . .

Re your Interword question:
If you're interested in using the ROM (?) and you're not in a rush (?) I've replicated the design of the board and it's production is just waiting for me to finalise a similar board for the ABE (Advanced BASIC Editor) as I'll have the boards made together to save costs!

I believe the ROM contents are widely available so If you don't want to use the ROM then erase it and re-use.

A third option is to swap it with someone who maybe would use it - Like Me (or a.n. other) :D It's always good to have original . . .

Hi Dave,

Thanks. I'm sure I will - I've hit a mid-life crisis and decided to visit my old loves - electronics, home computers and vintage test equipment.

Any idea how much the boards will cost to buy?

Malc

Probably no more than a few pounds . . . They're tiny and single sided.

Sounds good to me. I can wait.
