RPC dead

Postby javierglez » Sat Oct 21, 2017 8:37 pm

Mine died too. I was looking at a text editor window and suddenly the computer lost power.
I think PSU blew up as now it's completely silent when I switch it on.
Took it out yesterday after being stored all summer, and was working properly. However, today the boot sequence was being interrupted with a "this is not a relocatable module" error.
I wonder if both issues were related or I was unlucky. I was still noob to the system.

Unplug it from the mains and wait an hour. Try again after that. Also sniff the IEC to see if it smells of burning. Try a known working kettle lead as well.

My RISC PC just died a few weeks ago. No power from the button, no sound and no fan. I left it an hour and BOOM back working again!

Thanks for the advice, I tried this morning, wasn't so lucky.
I'll try get it fixed, but I couldn't bear the sorrow and just bought another one from CJE Micros.
