Risc PC Flap Flopping.

Postby DigitalDunc » Tue Jul 11, 2017 7:47 pm

I've mostly repaired a Risc PC I acquired cheaply (leaky battery and missing/broken plastics). There is however one problem remaining, the flap on the front won't stay up and there appears to be no spring or whatever holds it up.

Is it supposed to remain in one of two positions or always spring up unless held down? Also, what should a good mechanism for it look like?

Sorry to be a bother.

No bother - I'm sure we've all posted questions on here at some point!

The flap is supposed to held in place by a spring but it's very common to find that the mechanism has broken.

Here's a good guide to repairing them - I've done this a few times and it works well:

Thanks! That's just the sort of confirmation I needed on what needed to be done to fix it. Now I know the flap'll behave the way it's supposed to.
