Hello!

Postby brooksoid » Sat Dec 30, 2017 5:06 pm

Hi all,

Brief intro!

Had a Beeb when I was 10.
Went to Manchester Uni and happened to be on the same course as David Gilbert, the original BeebEm author and all round wizard.
Have just got myself a BBC model B for christmas, after selling mine when I was about 15.

Got one of those Turbo MMC jobbies, which I've managed to get working.

Currently wrestling with a sideways ram board that came with the machine (not connected).
Doesn't seem to be working.

Anyway. Having fun!

Matt

Thanks all!

Particularly impressed to find some of you are writing software for it.
I can't wait to have a go on Astro Blaster, the original is a favourite of mine.

For that, I particularly want to get this SWRAM working - for the speech!

Also I'll have an RGB cable soon too. I did the composite colour mod but neither of my TV's pick it up - they still show B&W, but slightly more noisy B&W...

The SWRAM It's been working on and off but my soldering, equipment and skills simply aren't up to it.
Resoldering one of the wires for the connected switch knocked another wire out, and it just got worse.
Hopefully once I'm back in the office, I know someone who can help out...
