Hello from the Forest of Dean

Postby rune » Sun Nov 05, 2017 2:53 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the BBC, having been a ZX81/Spectrum fan since the early 80s. Back then I often wondered if the other computers were really so much better than the Sinclair efforts but could never afford to find out.

Moving forward 35 years I now have the resources and have picked up a range of the early eighties computers - Vic20, C64, BBC, Amstrad, Amiga...

I got the Model B and a Turbo MMC a year ago and it sat neglected during the summer. Now the dark nights are here I want to try to do use it for programming, particularly in Forth. I love the idea that its possible to have these sideways ROMs. But despite having a few books and manuals, its still a bit confusing. Hope you don't mind me asking questions.

Dave
