All it needs is a BASIC ROM?

It’s not the Master Compact Service Manual. It’s actually the RetroClinic version which is only £4.95 new.

It is actually illegal and should not even be listed. Besides, if you want a copy of Zalaga, you can get it for free at Stairway To Hell.

It's illegal because it's copyrighted? So how is it legal for it to be free on STH?

Actually, as far as I can tell, all the archive on STH should not be there as it is all copyrighted. However, most owners of the IPs aren't bothered. The same goes for the archives on this forum. They are there; the IP owner may, or may not, know they are there; but they just choose to ignore it, for whatever reason they have.

Selling a copy of a game is something else - this goes against the Ebay rules for a start.

On the Repton Resource Page, I do not make available disc images of the various Repton games because, a - Superior have asked me not to, and b - they are available on STH anyway. I can't even make available the Repton 3 add ons (ATWIFS, LOR, RTT) converted for the Commodore 64 version, but I can make available a tool which will do the job (the scenarios that are on my page have been put on with the full knowledge, and OK, of Richard Hanson).

Did somebody contact this seller by any chance? as the auction has now ended, unsold.

The seller also added an extra bit on the item description saying that "I have been informed by another ebay user that people can get copies of the game
and put them on floppy disc. I can assure anybody that this is a copy I made in 1984" !

So what makes him think his copy is worth £30.00 ?

Simple! It's in its original cardboard case (complete with authentic clippings from magazines). Just be thankful it's not in cellophane or he'd be asking £45.

Can anyone tell what's written on the disc label? I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "Zalaga".

Well, clearly because it's an authentic original copy, and not one of those worthless modern copies that everyone has...???! [-X #-o

What would happen to its value if the disk was reformatted today and then the same data saved back to it?

Oohhh. That’s up there with the question about a tree falling over in the woods!

Maybe it has value because the data on that disc is 30 years old? New data won’t have matured as nicely and will have that new car smell.
