Matt Godbolt talk at CppCon

Postby kieranhj » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:36 pm

Hey folks,

Completely off-topic but Matt Godbolt, of jsbeeb fame, did the CppCon closing keynote on his Compiler Explorer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSkpMdDe4g4. Definitely worth a watch if you're into assembly language (albeit x86 in this instance.)

Wish he'd stop giving all these talks and just get on with fixing JSBeeb.

 I sent him the PoP WIP to run in jsbeeb and he replied that he is hoping to get back to doing some BBC stuff “soon” so you never know!

I may have briefly looked at this video before - I'll have to take a (second) look tomorrow.

Oh well, we may have lost Matt to C++ but at least the English language has gained a new verb according to one of the top comments. Will "godbolting" be included in the list of new words in the 2018 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary? ;)
