Thanks! I'm just waiting for GameFAQs to accept my submission (I included a special thanks to you in there for helping me through that nightmare, hope you don't mind). I'm a little dubious about their site since they've listed the game incorrectly as being for the ZX Spectrum. If it doesn't work out, I'll just dump it here.

I'm a big fan of OG Doctor Who (1963-1989; not real keen on the new stuff though) and am finally going to fulfill a lifelong ambition of owning a Bally DW pinball machine sometime early next year. Because of that, this seemed like a good time to marathon through the five (licensed) classic DW games. Two down, three to go - with another BBC micro game up next (Mines of Terror).

I've mainly only dabbled with indie text adventures, save for Hitchhiker's Guide which I really enjoyed. One of these days I plan to finally get around to Bureaucracy and some of the other Infocom classics.

Would you mind also submitting to http://solutionarchive.com/ or give me permission to add what you dump here to that site? Thanks.

I have read that a Spectrum version was in the pipeline, but was never released.

Thanks for the link, I'll definitely do that. This is my first walkthrough so I wasn't really sure where you post them.

Feel free to dump it here anyway!

Btw, here's an upload of The Warlord (1988) together with supporting documentation from Acorn User:

Please feel free to use this in your ongoing attempts to figure out what's up with the other version of this game and/or in writing a guide for it. At least until you get imprisoned, the guide works for "the Warlord" fine but they've definitely switched some things around after that. Considering the magazine hints work for both versions, I'm assuming not too much has changed solution-wise so hopefully all that would be required is to slightly alter this solution to account for new floor layouts, changes to the inventory system, etc.

I have officially burned myself out on this/these title(s) and am taking a well deserved rest so I'm leaving the rest up to you. I still have email alerts turned on for this topic, so if you need me to explain how I solved some of the more esoteric puzzles that lack useful hints let me know (just in case the other version rearranges anything like the endgame chase sequence).

Thanks again for all your help everyone!

EDIT - GameFAQs is up: https://www.gamefaqs.com/sinclair/94825 ... faqs/74594
The Solution Archive version is just the raw solution without the extra FAQ stuff. Still pending.
EDIT 2 - It's all up!

Thanks to that timed endgame sequence, I appear to have developed some kind of intense anxiety concerning how fast my words are being recieved.

Well, that's all sorted. Time for the next game, hopefully it won't so traumatic.
