Help identifying BBC Micro game

Postby Elciar » Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:46 am

Hello all.

I would appreciate your help identifying a game I played on the micro as a child in school in the early 80’s probably c.1984. Despite extensive searching and trying emulators I have failed to find it.

It was a predominantly text-based adventure with a basic graphical element, much like Granny’s Garden (but was not that game) involving solving puzzles and the like. My vague memories tell me it was a Robin Hood-themed game, but it is not ‘Robin and Marian’, or either of the two ‘Robin of Sherwood’ games. I cannot find evidence of the existence of another Robin Hood game. I can recall one difficult part of the game where there was a difficult puzzle involving keys to open a door. I know it isn’t much but it’s all I have to go on. It was not pure text or any kind of scrolling adventure.

FYI it is not Martello’s Tower, Merlin’s Castle or The Lost frog.

Thanks

This is definitely it, but the game stops after the first puzzle and a ‘disk read only 4950’ message appears and you can’t go any further. Any idea where I might be able to get a full working copy of the game?

If you're playing it on an emulator you'll need to enable writing to the disk / remove write protect.
