MIA Games on eBay

Postby leenew » Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:12 pm

Hi,
Is anyone thinking of bidding on this compiliation: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Games-Pack-1 ... 1438.l2649
I haven't seen it before.
There is a strong possibility that we have the "Robot" game: http://bbcmicro.co.uk/index.php?rt_R=on ... on&on_C=on
But the other 2 seem to be unknown games, unless anyone knows different?

I missed it.
I messaged the seller who said something along the lines that he knows the buyer, who does a lot of archiving, and he will ask him to contact me...
I got no reply...

No follow up reply from the seller? Can you message him back? It's definitely.worth being persistent! :)

Hi there!
I am the annoying person who forgot to bid on the games then badgered you too contact the buyer
How well do you know him? Is it worth contacting him again? Or is that pushing our luck?

Wait, did Guy buy the tape or sell it? (I've a feeling it could be the former, fingers crossed!).

was there not a MIA money box? so I could go higher?
as you / everyone knows I don't collect,
just make good images for this archive, then throw them out back window,
which back farmers field is getting bigger, and the sheep, cows, deer & squirrel don't pay no interest to them

I'd put the initial (low) bids in as placeholders when I spotted both listings but have just been outbid on both. I don't mind stepping aside as I don't keep BBC tapes any more once they've been preserved hence I don't bid anywhere near as much as I used to for missing stuff. Is someone else from Stardot going after these now?

(Edit, Col posted just as went to submit this ;) )

Well we all know how tight Col is!
So we have no chance of winning them.
I wonder if ghb is bidding as I believe he is quite a software collector?
Regarding the funds Col.... I don't know.
Any funds Acadian?

Col, same username - isn't it because the seller has set it as a private listing?

Just dashing off to meet Phil M in 20 mins - will post back here later tonight...

good news, someone PMd me about a .WAV coming my way for "Holy Horrors" tape.
bad news, been outbid on those two recent eBays already

EDIT: regarding Holy Horrors by Romik1984, in STH the .SSD works, but .UEF has "GAME" missing from end... :o

That's frustrating; I definitely want to contribute more to saving this stuff but appear to have missed that auction. Did somebody here get it?

Also, presumably if I'm paying enough attention in the future, is there anybody resident in the UK who would be able to receive and capture these things? I'm neither in the UK nor the owner of a tape player.
