Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Hi Mick, Could you give a link to download the latest versions, thanks, I'm not sure where they are posted - also do the disks have any method of identifing their version - like a date or number in the catalog? Actually do you think it would be possible to just zip the whole lot up into a single fil...

Mike Cook is back!

Hi There,

I just saw an article by him in the latest MagPi magazine:

Apparently he's been doing the Pi Bakery column for awhile now:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/tag/mike-cook/

Just like the old days in the Micro User!

Re: BASIC Space Invaders

Sorry my message came out a bit garbled I meant the demo looks terrific - much closer to Real Space Invades than any previous BBC version. But it runs very slow of course (being Basic) - so an Assembler version could be a really great version! And if it's easier to write in Assembler why not? (Or do...

Re: How would you connect a BBC wirelessly to the internet?

Thanks for the help - of course ... use the serial port!

So just getting it working without wireless would be a good first step.

And I now see you can buy devices already made:

That's good news - it's rather for the convience of leaving everything plugged in rather than trying to play them both at once.
Did you connect the BeebOPL first in the chain to the BBC or last?
Just have to find a ribbon cable now...

How would you connect a BBC wirelessly to the internet?

Hi there, Has this been done already? I'm thinking it would be really cool to be able to 'wget' info from websites and display it live. I'm thinking a Raspberry Pi 3 could probably do this the most easily and cheaply as it has wifi built in already - so it might be a variation on the co-pro setup - ...

Hi, Got mine today Impressed with the whole package with the manual - very professional I had to wait till I got the correct power cable and now I'm up and running... Hi Wim, Neat little device! Actually according to the manual it can record in LP,SP and HQ modes - I'm gussing you have it in LP mode with only does 100-2,000 Hz. The letters of the current mode appear on the screen. Here is the manual: WS-100_WS-200S_Instructions_EN.pdf and specs: http://www.olympu...

Re: Napoleon - Molimerx Ltd 1983 tape rip

Hi There, I tried your dump but unfortunately it didn't work too well - perhaps the rate you recorded it at - i.e 32kps is slightly insufficient. Perhaps you could record it at 320kps instead? (Actually I don't think I've ever seen that rate for an audio file - even back in the early days of the 200...

Re: Domesday 30

Hi There, Fascinating subject.. Anyway it just occured to me this Domesday subject is a perfect subject for modern emulation. Can you transfer your Laserdisc data to a hard drive image? There's a precedent for this where some ingenious fellows have converted the original Dragon's Lair Laserediscs to...

Archive Submissions - Wav and Mp3 please!

Submissions should be UEF, hqUEF or CSW for tape. Please don't submit WAVs or other audio files unless after discussion that's deemed to be the only sensible way to get it preserved (people can't use these easily with emulators). I totally disagree - wav or mp3 tape submissions are a far better for...

Re: Palettemate / enhanced video ULA with 4096 colours

Hi, This topic is facinating - I've always considered the BBC's lack of palette a great shortcoming - even the Amstrad CPC with just 3 levels per channel had a great 27 colour palette. I'd adjusted b-em awhile ago to run games with custom palettes (I hardwired it in the code for the emulator) - here...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've had a brief go at the them all and the Witness and Detectiveland seem to be exactly what I was thinking off.
