Re: CUB 452 connection to a BBC-B

I've got a CUB like the one pictured with a 7 pin DIN socket (TTL). (or is that 6 + ground the right terminology ?)
What lead can I use to connect it to the various Acorns, 8 and 32 bits ?

Ref is 1431 / MS4F

Thanks in advance for your help,
Xavier.

A Tatung monitor recently listed on EBay ... not sure it'll directly work with the Einsteins, though.

You would say 'availability' I'd answer 'yes'.
Check rhe price of low capacity DOMs on Ebay : they are vert cheap.

Very rare.

I bought the faulty one listed a few days ago.
I had been looking for one for months.
It's faulty, but from the picture I think it's 'just' the CMOS chip.

Re: Wanted - A3000 IDE podule

Zarchos, there are a variety of DOMs, is there a particular make that's known to work? I'll check with mine (yes I know I'm late, sorry) but to find 512 Mbytes or 1 Gbyte they will be, by definition, old enough to work with the Castle board (low capacity -> old stuff) ... or any other board of the ...

Re: Wanted - A3000 IDE podule

Browsing Ebay brings some good news : a DOM will work with an A3020 and thus with the Castle board.
I let you find the auction on Ebay where this solution is offered for about 3 to 4 times its real cost ...

I'll pm you from now on. Your machine can get a full size podule at the back, so that could be easier to fulfill your needs.

Bought a Sharp MZ-800 with a an amber monitor for my collection and i hope it will arrive in the next week. It's the MZ-821 WITH a quick disk drive (the ordinary MZ-821 had a integrated tape drive and the MZ-831 had a printer included too). The drive is a 2.8" one ... i'm actually building a c...

Ooo very nice :D :D What speed does that work at ? 20mhz max for these Aliance RAM's. They don't overclock at all, but 20mhz is just what I want in my adelaide machine as MEMC can't go faster than 20mhz anyway :D Really ? So which one did you use in your 26 Mhz machine ? Sorry I forgot.

Re: Which Archimedes model?

[SNIP] The A400 and A300 series do not have an RGB video port, not VGA. VGA is supported (you'll need (to make) a cable) but you'll be stuck on one screen (VGA) mode and won't be able to play any games. With the A400 you'll have to get an old monitor, modify the computer or get a SCART-VGA converte...

Re: Which Archimedes model?

Well Mark, don't confuse the OP : the A7000 is a cut down RISC PC with all the huge benefits these machines provide, but also some compatabilities issues if you don't know where to find the patches for the games for example ... (Jon's ADFFS solves all this btw).

Re: Which Archimedes model?

OK so I'll exclude the RISC PCs because you stated 'Archimedes'. Depending on what Mrs JonB allows you to use in her house (you paid for it, but it's hers, remember ?), I'd choose either an all in one machine or one with a separate keyboard. So I'd choose either an A3010 or any machine with an ARM3 ...

Material needed to describe RISC OS 3.11

I hope 'material' is well what I think about. I've got the project to make a video in French about the Archimedes, as yes, none exists. To describe RISC OS correctly to an audience who has used other computers (so that's going to be Ataris and Amigas) I'd like you to give me some links describing ac...
