Dead A3020 parallel port.

Hi all. I have an A3020 with a dead parallel port (I saw that when connecting a known to be working Iomega Zip drive). Where should I start to try to repair it ? The motherboard had seen a battery leakage but everything had been cleaned a few years ago. What are all the small cms next to the paralle...

Re: Archi noob has many questions...

I used HForm from the applications disks for RISC OS 3.
Version number 2.19 April 92.

The drive verifies ok too.
Maybe it checks to 512 Mbytes, in reality.
Strange.
Now I am going to try to partition it, I don t know if that is possible with HForm.
Answer is no.

Re: Archi noob has many questions...

Reading here http://www.riscos.org/csafaq/part3.html#3_14 I thought on the A3020 to which I added a hard drive this evening I couldn't get more than 512 Mbytes out of its 785 Mbytes capacity, but hey, surprise, I could format it to the full size. Has sbdy got an explanation ? What is the maximum cap...

As introduced I have since a few days an A3000 and A410/I, the first time I have Archis. The last makes still some trouble (floppy drive, harddisk) but there is already a thread about this. Now questions, this is the 1st part, more to come the more I advance... 1. Is there anywhere a usermanual for...

No rush Zarchos, sometimes life has to take over, even from important Acorn activities! Once this thread's lifespan has completed it might be a good idea to trim all the useful details and findings and put them into a sticky in the 32bit hardware subforum? The Archimedes was the best computer to own in the late 80ies and early 90ies!!! (But then came Atari Falcon with ct60e turbo card with 68060 at 95 Mhz...) So I am also interested in IDE interface for A3000, also for A410/I. And I quite agree. Falcon always looked fantastic to me. Sorry all I'm ver...

Re: A410/I floppy and harddisk issue

Yes you will need the Acorn formatter utility !HForm as found with the Archies. (Not in Roms for safety reasons with all these naughty kids. It's on the Applications disk 2).
There is a copy on Stardot search for keywords 'hd format' 'HForm' it should help.

Welcome. Your experience reminds me how hard it was to be an Archie user not based in the U.K. And still with so few Archies and RPCs sold in Germany there are many great apps or demos coming from your country. On a very technical side, it is a German coder who demonstrated on the Archie it was poss...

I'm ok to buy it if you could agree to ship it to France.
It's impossible to buy here.
I'd appreciate.
For my museum (which is not a joke, I'm going to do it, for true, and Acorns will have a major part in the exhibition, these machines are unknown to most people).

However if a Stardot member is bidding I am happy to support with (some) funds in the name of preservation, knowledge sharing and fun. :D Even for a French museum :twiste...
