Re: A420 disk drive won't read MS-DOS discs

I'd cover that EPROM window sooner rather than later if I were you. Even something as simple as insulation tape will sort that as a temporary thing. Certainly would . . . I've lost a few by not covering them, In fact I found one of my boards left on a windowsill - it was only there a few days but '...

Re: Needed To Repair BBC Memory?!!

Good idea tho dave! As an aside, if anyone has any ideas for 'SMALL' boards . . . I hate sending panels to be made without using every square mm of usable board. So, if you've an idea - let me know :D You can't tell from the images, above, but that little board is 4 layer with Rogers making up the ...

Needed To Repair BBC Memory?!!

Having a spare 5 min. and needing to 'fill-up' one of our PCB panels I created this: Inverter PCB.jpg This is an Inverter board that takes the 7404 series of ICs (s, LS, HC, HCT etc.). There's holes for +5V and 0V and Input and Output - all marked, even if the text is on the small side :D So, if any...

Re: Electron Second Processor project

You could see a small discrepancy, between the channels, depending on the horizontal timebase setting e.g. if it's on 'chopped' or 'alternative' sweep. This can catch you out occasionally, especially when looking at very small differences! From the D61a user guide: 2012-11-28 10.28.02 pm.png Just a ...

That Epson printer (which model is that?) takes me back - to 1986 at primary school, where we had an RX-80. It was slow, noisy and couldn't print in NLQ. Even my Centronics GLP could do NLQ (though even more slowly). It's an MX-80 which, I believe,pre-dates NLQ mode. I think I posted a ROM (maybe f...

Care to measure yet again  Martin: Didn't measure! Forgot to take a board with me, must stop rushing in the morning :D . However, I counted the connectors (0.1" spacing) and allowed 0.05" at each end. Which seemed reasonable at the time! I've now made a few measurements, as follows:...
