The first time I saw Hunchback was on my cousin's Oric-1 on a little black and white portable TV in 1983. I was hooked. A month or two later, I got my Beeb for my Christmas present that year which for a 9 year old, was the biggest and best present ever. Mind you, it'd still be one of the best Christ...

how about creating colour 'profiles' for different games? The supplied palette utility allows you to load and save palettes for just this reason. I've also included some example palettes within the ROM (under RFS) for the following games: Barbarian, Boffin, Commando, Crazee Rider, Firetrack, Fortre...

ISTR there are some 4MB RAM expansions for the A3000 that require a small flying lead to connect to a pin on IC28 or 29. Most boards don't require it but some do. I've certainly got one A3000 with such a lead... You can just make out the BROWN flying lead in the bottom left of the photo on the link ...

Re: Are there versions of BBC Basic with extensions (like procedures)

So in terms of modern languages, most are based on an OO paradigm with classes and methods. Methods are simply functions that return a result or not. BBC BASIC has both Functions DEF FNxxxxxx and Procedures DEF PROCxxxxxxxx where a PROCedure is essentially a FuNction that returns nothing/null/void. ...

In the short term, if it is the X2 suppression caps, you can simply remove them and it'll still work as these caps are used for noise suppression only.

Nice looking machine. You should be able to switch out the HDD with an IDE -> SD or IDE -> CF card without issue. The Adelaide board machines are better in some respects in that it's possible with some work and nerves of steel to add an ARM3 processor to the board like this http://www.retro-kit.co.u...

Pretty sure that this was the serial port PC version which was significantly updated from the user/parallel port BBC Micro version so I doubt there's any software for the Beeb for this one.
