Re: Function Key Strips

I recreated a set of Master function key strips which are high res and print out really nicely on glossy photo paper.

There's a recreation of the Hybrid function key strip there and some other bits and pieces too...

Would it be possible to run 4 or more 512MB partitions on an ST506 (or emulated) drive if it had enough capacity? Is the Arc's on board controller up to that job?

Re: Is the Retro Bubble going a bit flat?

I think the really rare computers can still fetch a half decent price, but we are not getting any younger and people do give up on their hobby, so the market will eventually start getting smaller and with the same amount of products still available the prices are bound to fall. It then becomes a ra...

That's an interesting one. I had not heard of the Music 5000 prior to joining here. I do have a Music 500 somewhere but that definitely seems like a smaller unit and I am not sure where the software is. I assume the manufacturers did a range of these? The Music 500 and Music 5000 are essentially th...

Impressive, I can guarantee there'd be interest in a podule :D Between this and a cheap IDE/SATA/SD storage and/or USB function on a podule even it just supports thumb drives, it'd be a winner for data transfer. Pretty sure we've had this conversation before about building a community based Unipod t...

Re: Death-dapters - Why you really don't want them...

Plastic consumer units have now been restricted. New installations have to comply with stricter regulations. So I think new consumer units have to be metal. Got to say, that's horrific but not shocking. In the second video, it looks to me like the plug simply hasn't been assembled correctly regarding the screws not making contact with the metal sheaths inside. Which means that the factories in China that manufacture these adapters are cutting some dange...

Re: External CoPros - Quick Question, what voltage do they run on ?

Cheese wedge co-pros run on 110-120/230-250V AC transformed down to 5V DC

Modern co pros run on 5V DC or 3.3V DC depending on the technology used which gives rise to the use of level shifters to convert the logic levels between 5V and 3.3V because the Beeb uses 5V TTL logic.

On the hardware front, I'll just add that I've currently got 130 Ultra VIDC Enhancer PCB's enough and ACT153 chips to go with them. I'll finally be starting a build run of 40 "standard" Ultra VIDC Enhancers in the next few weeks which will be suitable for the A300/400, A400/1 and A3000 se...

Sounds to me like they're reinventing the established facts around Paul's death. In the end I don't believe the was any "mystery" there, just a tragic suicide which followed from financial and relationship issues.

Why can't people leave well enough alone?

OK, that's cool. Yes, the quote thing is a bit of a nightmare. I did it once for VGA oscillators and eventually found a uk manufacturer that could make new for not a lot less than NOS from China so I went for the new.

Definitely interested in a board though if supplies become more abundant.
