Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

What would be nice is... Long after a game has been fixed, the post(s) concerning fixing it could be removed as the fix would then be mentioned in the edited post for the disc that features the game, i.e. Bug Eyes on Disc 012 which now states it is fixed to work on a BBC with a Datacentre fitted. Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection

Is it possible that the admins could remove some of the drivel at the beginning of this thread where I was converting the discs by hand? In fact... If this thread just contained Mick's posts, I would be more than happy, as it would be much easier to find the discs, and that's why everybody visits t...

As you're the resident expert on this game  would you mind playing through this new version of the disc-image in Model B mode? (All I've done is edit the !BOOT so that it will set PAGE to &1700 if PAGE is initially higher than &E00)... Hi Lurkio, that seems to work fine - I was able t...

Re: Puff - running in an emulator

Hi. I've discovered that if you want to play the "Puff" text adventure (http://bbcmicro.co.uk/game.php?id=2195), if you play with your emulator set to BBC B, the game will crash (annoyingly near the end) with a "No room" error. Hi. Thanks for reporting this. As you're the reside...

I've tried searching the forum and google without success, the download link which I'm sure I used in the past on this thread appears to be dead, and the beeb.mmb file mentioned here doesn't seem to have a download link at all. Am I missing something obvious? No, it is quite tricky trying to wade t...

Re: Adventure Soft / Scott Adams recommendations please

I thought of another solution that would be possible to retro-fit to existing adventures. I'm thinking that it would be possible to write a routine that reads the characters on the screen using OSBYTE 135, collects individual words, and passes them to an existing speech solution ... Yes please!! Th...

Re: Mastering Interpreters and Compilers - book

What we did for another book might help: if you're scanning monochrome (black and white) text, and if you DON'T want high-resolution archive-quality scans , then use your scanner's "Text" setting (image bit-depth = 1). And 300 dpi. If there's too much "noise" in the scanned image...

how about having them on bbcmicro.uk, but "hidden"? e.g. anything with a primary genre of "educational" is hidden by default, but shown on the educational page/site/whatever. That is something that crossed my mind. It does mean that there is only one place to put everything, and...

Re: Any short type-ins for unattended Beebs?

That's neat! Out of curiosity, what's the reason for IFINKEY(2)OR-1 being there? I've tried removing it, and the program runs faster because it isn't waiting for the INKEY(2) delay. I would have thought that pressing a key would cause the program to speed up, but it doesn't seem to. Also, the delay...

Thank you to Diminished, who PM'd me and confirmed that there was indeed a bug or loophole in the game.

I've now fixed the bug and attached the updated version of the game to the first post in this thread.

I've uploaded the fix to bbcmicro.co.uk too.

Re: How t pass arrays into procedures?

I have decided to use capitals for global variables and small letters for those inside procedures , that way there is no overlap Or use LOCAL variables inside procedures...

Re: How t pass arrays into procedures?
