Re: Mac BeebEm3 - user-defined keyboard

Ok, you can download a copy to try from : http://www.g7jjf.com/progs/BeebEm4a.zip I have also started to add the disc import/export feature but I haven't finished it yet. Importing a single file should work but that is as far as I have got yet. Jon Don't know if you're still reading this, Jon, but ...

Thanks for your help. The Google link shows the keyboard I have. When I press the " key, nothing happens. None of the mapping options work for me. Either my Mac is set up stupid, or I am being stupid! Are you saying that the key does nothing, even in JSBeeb? (Have you tried the different setti...

Re: Codename Druid - can't play on Mac

I have an iMac from 2014, which uses a wireless keyboard. It's layout / key mappings don't provide for such a key. That's very strange! The iMac keyboards that I've seen, wireless or not, have all got the apostrophe key. It's just above the forward-slash key. See the linked photos: https://www.goog...

I'm struggling to find a couple of things... The first is a copy of the BBC B+ MOS. I'm sure it must be out there somewhere on the Internet, but it's not an easy thing to Google for. One with disassembly would be superb, of course, but beggars can't be choosers. http://mdfs.net/Info/Comp/Acorn/Sour...

Might be great if bbcmicro.co.uk can host this alternative version? Before we do that, let's try to get to the bottom of why exactly you're having such difficulty with the asterisk key..? I'm on a Mac, and I'm able to use Mac BeebEm , Win BeebEm (in a virtual Windows 7 installation), Win BeebEm (un...

Still doesn't explain what the above list is? I think Mick was just making a factual statement: he was just reproducing a list of games that appeared in the Beebug advert which Diminished posted, above . Mick then went on to ask for inlays from -- and/or copies of -- some specific games from that l...

One thing worth mentioning - it breaks in an absolutely crazy way if you have the Disc Doctor ROM installed (as I do in all my emulator configs). Yes, it was Disc Doctor that was stopping the game from running for me in Mac BeebEm and Win BeebEm (WINE). Disc Doctor's notorious for breaking games, i...

Re: Dragonsoft Explorer

Is it because the second disc needs to be writeable? I suspect not, because the disc-images don't need to be writeable for the game to work in BeebEm: it needs to be unprotected /write able so the high score table can save, hence when I got it had to reset it to get it to go! Peter's hacked version...

Here is one with the ROM on the play disc and auto loads on boot, searches for ram starting at bank 0, then continues to load the normal boot loader. This is great, thanks! Seems to work well in (Mac) BeebEm. Doesn't work in JSBeeb though: https://bbc.godbolt.org/?autoboot&disc=https://dl.dropb...

I am using BeebEm, on Windows. It seems to work OK but I will try B-Em out. Yes, I just tried the game in BeebEm in a virtual instance of Windows 7 in VirtualBox on my Mac. That worked. But the game doesn't seem to work in BeebEm under WINE. Nor does it work in the native Mac version of BeebEm ...

Lucky you didn't ask for the instruction booklet, since that would've taken longer to scan in! A smartphone with a decent camera should make short work of that, and should produce legible photos of the text too. I suspect Mick might not have known that there even was a booklet! Perhaps now that he ...
