Re: B-Em

Those are the run times packages. The build packages were apt-get install -y gcc g++ make cmake \ liballegro5-dev \ libopenal-dev \ libalut-dev \ zlib1g-dev \ automake1.11 \ git wget unzip \ From what i remember it built fine, then fell over with the allegro_menu error when you tried to run it as no...

Re: B-Em

Steve, I'm currently trying to build the sf/allegro5 on Windows using the MinGW environment I previously used for B-Em and Atomulator. I need to add allegro5 to this. Do you know which version of allegro5 is needed? The latest official MinGW allegro5 binary is for 5.0.10: https://www.allegro.cc/fil...

Well, I'm loving it . . . Who could ask for more . . . Took ages to download (for whatever reason) but well worth the wait - still reading it . . . Slow for me to downlaod as well. The good thing about a magazine is it condenses all the good stuff into one place. i.e. like someone doing the hardwor...

Re: ABUG SOUTH 1 to 3 June 2018 (Hampshire) BOOKING THREAD

Not sure I will get time between now and June to revive my other distracted project of Master Telnet. It's an ideal opportunity to get a full day (or two) to work on it! True but I use an imac27, don’t fancy lugging that about. Although I should have a pi-Top up and running soon, once postman deliv...

Okay go on then, I would like to do 2 days but I expect I can only do one. Put me down for Saturday. Not sure what I would do with a table. I Could bring some raspberry pi, not sure why, but I have loads of them (12 I think we 2 or 3 more about to be ordered). I could Demo Jenkins building Docker Em...

There does seems to be quite a few spare spaces. Perhaps I will ask the boss. Will update the other thread if/ when I get permission. Perhaps I will take my climbing stuff in case the room is filled with exploding cap smoke :) I will be starting a code club the following Friday, so if anyone has don...

I could probably make it but not sure what I would offer. Not sure my one achievement of doing a hardware list is going to be much of a talking point.

Unless people want to go climbing, I see there are a couple of nearby climbing walls. (I hold an MTA CWA).

That scrolling demo seems to be missing NuLA. Is it the NuLA version? I first saw this as a NuLA demo but I have since discovered there is a version on the B-Em demo disc that came with version 2.2 and is still in the discs directory which does not attempt to make use of NuLA. Interestingly the NuL...

Re: Which Emulator for BBC Micro on Linux?

Interesting - thanks for this! I'll try it out when I'm doing my Linux fixes. I'm not surprised if it is rather slow on a Raspberry Pi, since b2 is written with a modern Intel system in mind (GPU, good branch prediction, lots of MHz, out-of-order execution) - which is another way of saying it isn't...

Re: How t pass arrays into procedures?

I waste loads of space making the program readable, then run it through a basic code cruncher. Best of both worlds then. Readable, maintainable but still small.

For those who know what Linux Containers are I have been playing around and put Tom's Linux version of B2 into a container. Passing an Array as a parameter was added to BASIC V aka Advanced BASIC but that is not standard on a BBC.
