BeebEm 1.4 and 1.41

As I'm sure quite a few of youhave noticed, they're unstable on some systems. But, they worked on mine - twice. And then ceased. Which... implies that it's possible to make them work properly. Does anyone have any idea how to make them stable. Or, know when the next version of BeebEm is coming out, ...

It works fine in BeebEm 1.41. Just make sure that you've got all the sound settings to the highest quality. I think DirectSound being set to on might help too<br> <br> <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START 8o --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/nerd.gif ALT="8o"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON...

Both of them?

:-p I can say that one was intentional. As for the other one... if you really need it to run the site, please keep it. I'm feeling magnanimous today. But, if you don't need it, you can always send it back.<br>

Can you post a reply on here to confirm that you've received the money, and sent the CD (sorry if this has already been posted, the site appears to be playing up, and loading slowly (if at all))<br>

:-) Just to say that I've sent you £15 through nochex (my initials are RB) - so please check there, see that the money has been sent, and send me that CD, good sir :-) And let the emulation commence!<br>

Emulation Situation

A quick question - have gotten back into Exile (emulated form), and am trying to see if it can be done even with the Beebem 2-key restriction (cannot have more than 2 keys at once depressed). It can't, I think :-(<br> <br> What emulator would you recommend that I use - the only three things I ask ar...

D'oh! I know what bit you really mean!

Sorry, was thinking of a different bit. I think you're talking about the bit where you're in the tunnel, and the block is on solid ground, you have to find a way to somehow get the block up the tunnel... as shown in diagram (ahem, I'm useless at ASCII)<br> <br> _____| |_____<br> _____ _____<br> |X |...

That part is possible... just bloody annoying...

Hey there Stormcloud,<br> <br> If you're talking about the same bit I think you're talking about, I had a real bit of trouble with it too. It IS possible, you have to do it with the icer, and there are 2 possible ways to shoot it upwards (once you've gotten underneath, of course)<br> <br> 1) Simple ...

Another question!

Yes, I know I'm unfairly scrounging off the knowledge of this group! However, the only games that I'd be able to help those who asked for help with, all seem to have solutions posted in the archives already. And I was sooo proud of the fact that I solved Ravenskull on my own when I was younger. *sni...

Thanks, but damn!

Thanks! I will download and play. Unfortunately, the cheat will do me little good (as do many of the original BBC cheats) - BeebEm cannot register more than two key inputs at once. I know this, for I am stuck on Exile - I need to move left, thrust up and boost at the same time. Beebem will not accep...

Yet ANOTHER What was it called

Rather unusual game this. In the style of Citadel (puzzles, doors, etc), but I am quite sure your character had jetboots and could fly. I remember the architecture (walls!) in the game as having a triangular, diagonal flavour, and there was most definetly a room, where you entered from the left hand...

Oh, too easy :-)

The best one was to write a program that made the screen appear exactly as it did normally. And to let things in normally. Except, whenever you pressed Return, the computer "reset" - i.e. it made the resetting sound, flashed the screen and came up normal again. And if you Ctrl-Breaked it, ...

Did a little poking around. My version of the game (compiled using BBCiM from the BBC Lives! website), seems not to work. The one from here does (woohoo!). That's not the problem!

It seems to work fine. It loads fine. That really cool music plays fine. But, the image of the wizard actually starts off outside the room (looking very odd!)- you can move him into it and then the walls keep him in the room as usual. But, you can't walk through the door, or leave the first room.<br...

It would be a good addition. I've been through all the items available, bringing them up to him (the fruit, the music note, the hourglass, the drill), but nothing seems to work. What was the name of that game?

Just thinking of an old game, that I'd like to play again. I can't remember the name though. You played a druid of some form, it was a platform game. You could walk off screen both left and right, and you had to collect all the runes from the level. I definetly remember there being a candle on the r...

Finally managed to get Spellbinder working - 'twas one of my favourite games... But it doesn't quite work. The game starts, the music plays and the character appears, not quite inside the screen. You can move him into the play area, once he's in he'll stay there. But, he won't move through the door ...

Spellbinder

Just a quick question - having finally got Spellbinder to work (using BeebEm 1.4, as 1.35 kept on generating a general protection fault) - how do you actually leave the first room? I can walk around inside the room, but it won't let me leave through the door at the end... Tried F0 to F5, none of whi...
