Re: A 200Kb into a 199.5Kb pot!

Depends what you want - the gotek replaces the floppy drive with something solid state - you can use it with anything from normal dfs images to adfs images to other computers. UPURS lets you copy disc images to and from real floppies at high speed? These days I just use goteks as it's much easier th...

Re: A 200Kb into a 199.5Kb pot!

I've not tried this, so I don't know how far you'll get on this... Torch images I think are properly interleaved across both sides of the floppy, so they'll never work natively with turbommc (and besides, CP/N expects to find an 8271 to use, so it'll always go for the actual floppy drives). You'll h...

Impression Publisher Fonts "Out of Memory"

I've got publisher 4.09 here (from wakefield) - which is SA compatible. Trying to install it on my 3.71 RPC which has 128mb, and it's screaming that it's out of memory everytime I try and use the font program to install the fonts...

Any ideas? :? Most odd...

Re: LOLPRICE

I don't think the advert is claiming the bag is original. It claims it's the original seal, which if you look at the picture of the rear of the box, it does have a sticker sealing the box shut. It may or may not be original. Didn't spot that  :D - I'm quite prepared to believe it's unused, I ...

Re: Risc PC - starting from scratch!

Have you got a hostname and local domain set? Doesn't matter what they are, they need to be there? I'm assuming you've set the IP to be 192.168.1.x and likewise the gateway to be 192.168.1.1?

It needs 5V from somewhere. Where is entirely up to you - you might be able to get it from the AP3 itself somewhere? Re. OLED/Rotary encoder, it's a DIY job if you're happy to do a tiny bit of soldering and case modification - the parts will come to 6 or 7 quid depending on where you get them from. ...

Re: Archimedes A3010 issues

You can get the ram control line failure when the CMOS IC goes south. Check continuity to the CMOS IC and its associated circuit, and if that looks OK, check RAS/CAS circuit continuity around the RAM. If that's OK, replace the CMOS IC.

Re: Archimedes A3010 issues

Also, make sure you plugged the speaker back in! (I've frequently done that) - make sure you wash off the vinegar with plenty of water before applying IPA, IPA won't get rid of the salts that are formed by either the battery alkaline, or the reaction between the alkaline and vinegar.

Re: Gotek on A3010 Issues

It's actually about the index pulse being received in a timely fashion. There was a fair bit of testing with the A3010 (and beeb 8271 DFS) before Keir managed to get rid of the drive empty issue. It does work fine on my a3010 and A5000.

Re: 10base-2 crossover?

So, in that case, run RPCEmu in bridged mode, set it up just as AUN, it should take a 1.x.x.x address for itself with no gateway, and then your Arc running AUN should be able to see it as long as you're on the same physical subnet? :? Worth a shot, anyway. (I think the whole stack resides in the Int...

The TCP/IP stack is there, in Freeway/ShareFS. It should spot another machine on the same subnet without you having to do anything much extra:
