Sarsons should be available in most places, I'd imagine (my local Waitrose stocks it):

Re: Cumana Dual 5 1/4 floppy drive

I've got a Viglen dual floppy drive, also with a pair of NEC FD-1055s. Both drives have a circuit board hanging off the back that's connected to several points on the drive and to a toggle switch that allows you to change between 40 and 80 track mode. This worked fine on a Beeb with the older 8271 D...

That would be TB, I hope? Otherwise, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you about how much SD card you can buy for a tenner from Tesco. (-8

Whoops! Yes, 4TB, not 4GB.

What's even more silly is that whilst you need a PIN to watch the Sky movie channels before 10pm, you don't have to enter one to watch Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

I recently had my VM box swapped to one of their new V6 things. Utter garbage. It's really noisy and the software is atrocious.

Assuming the A3000 keyboard is like various other keyboards, the little wire thing for the ENTER key should be an elongated "C" shape. There should be a couple of clips on the keyboard itself where the long side of the "C" slots into (they can be broken off, far too easily in my ...

3D printing services

(I did do a search for this, but trying to find "3D" doesn't bring back a great set of results.) I'd like to get something 3D printed. Normally this would be an excuse to buy a new gadget, but 3D printers are costly and confusing. So I was wondering whether anyone can recommend any cheap a...

Re: Some question about my A3010. Adelaide & IDEtoCF

If you don't have any luck with CF and SD cards and don't mind losing the ability to swap cards easily, an alternative would be an IDE DOM (disc on module), such as a Transcend. For example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-TS1GDOM44V-S-Flash-DISK-Internal/dp/B0013HSCL8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=...

Here's mine: 1. Beeb (Model B) . I first used these at school in 1985 or so, when at junior school in the third year. My dad had brought one home from work (another school), so I'd seen one before. I remember typing *. once to list a disc's contents and people being amazed. One of the Beebs even had...

Any single-row female 2.54mm pitch connector should work. Just be aware that, with an ST, you may need to provide a 5V supply. Re: RISC PC - What version of RISC OS do you use?

I'm still on 3.7 as well, and I too much prefer the look and feel compared to the later versions, as well as the use of the Acorn logo for the switcher icon. RISC OS 3.7 reminds me of the good old days when computing was fun (i.e. before I started it as a profession) and when Acorn was still around....
