Re: My new project - A Documentary!

Dear friends, Please, forgive me for my long absence. The last 3 to 4 months of my life have been literally hectic since I had to complete my documentary. It has been very well-received here, so to speak, it was even shown in Portugal at the Lisbon Games Week recently. If you, lads, would like to ha...

Faulty Electron

Dear friends, Out of the blue, my Electron started to behave erratically. Whenever I touch any of the keys marked in the photo, the Electron crashes/freezes. Other than that, it works properly - and even run games from David's MGC multicart. Any ideias of what might have happened? Like I said, the p...

Re: Poll: "International" version of my books!

If I understand correctly, he talks a bit about the way the Onyx Junior's pause button works before describing why something extra is needed for a regular 2600. Maybe there's something extra about it in the original document ? I wonder if there are schematics online for the Onyx Junior. :-k I'll tr...

Re: Poll: "International" version of my books!

Some quick searching turned up this document: A Pause button for the Atari 2600 . It's about a modern modification based on an pause button implementation in a Brazilian clone console. Kits are available from AtariAge . Yup, Victor Trucco is a very popular guy here in Brazil. He does a lot of retro...

Re: Poll: "International" version of my books!

I'd be interested just to know about that pause button. It surely must have required software support? It's not like you can just leave the TIA in a steady state and expect it to output anything like a game's output (or, depending on your screen's tolerance to the lack of vertical sync, possibly an...

Poll: "International" version of my books!

Dear friends, I think most of you are familiarized with my research of the history of the video games arrival in my country, right? I wrote two books on the subject (the second edition - revised and expanded - is due to release next month) and am producing a documentary which will be released on Sep...

Happy belated Xmas! Happy 2017! I've been away from this forum for a while due to many things, but mostly because of the continuing work in my documentary. In fact, we've prepared 2 teaser videos (in Portuguese). I invite you to watch them... Teaser #1 shows people (from the Industry) who brought th...

After four years (!!!), we're returning with this. I know, it's a shame... But the thing is I'm involved with a lot of projects (magazine, books, the documentary I'm producing etc.). There's even a new opening sequence that features a lot of games... Including BBC Micro's... Can you name all the gam...

I interviewed Clive Townsend (Saboteur)

Dear friends, The new issue of my magazine "Jogos 80" is out. I interviewed Clive Townsend, the British programmer that released, via Durell Software, the classic game Saboteur! Here's the interview for you in English! PS: Note the question on a Beeb version of that game... Jogos 80: How d...
