Re: Why did you buy the BBC?

Lol. My dad was in the higher education sector at the time, and used to occasionally get loan of stuff from them. Was very excited when he brought a Commodore PET home - which I could play Snake on! - but that didn't stay long :( Then he borrowed a Beeb and, well, they never did ask for it back

Great to see, but was this recent title ever released into the public domain?

Really hoping the author doesn't take offence :)

Re: Repton Overture

This is astounding!! The added colours (obviously) give it so much more vibrancy. That it allows you to blend Repton 3 & 4 colour palettes (and designs) into the same map space is very exciting :) Love the way you've melded the existing elements of alll the series into one game, although having ...

Re: Still MIA - Alien Fallout

Poorly printed listings could really be hell. However many times I went over Usbourne's "Island of Secrets" I could never get it to work! Thankfully, in the case of a listing as small as this, the chances of rectifying any such possible errors is greatly improved :D As for trying to comple...

Re: High score challenge - S2 Round 10 - Overdrive

Good God, could there have been a more masochistic pick? I've discovered Chocolate Doom and bought some levels off Steam so I'm a bit too distracted to have another go at Overdrive. Hahahahaha, you should check out the Zdaemon or Zandronum online multiplayer source ports, or trawl through the entire...

Another guy and I were previously asking - either on here or on the RS forums - about the possibility of a disk image only purchase. I'd happily pay for this, but am steadfast in my refusal to purchase a (physical) hardcopy.

Re: Record of known releases missing from archive

Seems my recollection was a little off regarding "Cells & Serpents". It wasn't something I'd typed in, but instead an A&B Computing game which appears on a few PD discs - and there are 2 versions of it floating around. Fun to play, but wasn't actually the game I was thinking of! Th...

Annoying to see the Beeb getting badmouthed without much comeback in that old thread :x Sure, Repton was based on Boulderdash but the 2 were worlds apart. And yeah... where did Elite originate? 8) No good me bidding. Smittenbyakitten has banned any of my bids - must be the offer of £10 for a load of...

That's surely a novel idea - not that you could use elastic bands, but that you could come to get used to the resting position of the sticks :o The voltmace ones are sprung though Hrmmm. Been a good while since I had them out of their box but that's not my recollection. Or maybe it was that the spri...

That was the whole problem with the analogues - the "wobblyness". On paper it was a fabulous idea to be able to read movement by degrees but those was there a single games title that ever functioned that way?? What games players needed was something chunky that was centre-sprung ! So yeah ...

I notice the odd thing missing like Viper's "Ultron" and The Hit Squad's "Hypersports" but who's going to want to wade through the whole list to see what they might have that you haven't? If you're after something then don't expect other people to make the effort to tell you what...
