My missing tile screenshot-rips if you want 'em for comparison: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0352ca1j3d880om/Spritey%20Spritey.rar?dl=0 Not "missing", but, yer know. And if it's any use, the whole Citadel map with reference grid for tiles and rooms: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bj9cd0qwg1ymvlw/C...

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Just realised... there's a pit of those rope monsters in the lab thing down the well without the rope xor'd over them. Sheesh. Since I'm here, I'm noticing a few other things missing from that gfx rip collection, like ground thorns, ladders, rope.. Easy for me to get, but thought you might not have ...

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Oh, right. Gotcha.

If you're interested I found another little weird detail. You know the roof of the witch's house on the micro version.. there's a magenta pixel offset on the bottom-left corner of the triangle. It looks like it's just a star but it's actually solid for some reason.

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Not seeing torches among the tiles. Tile 063 in the early version looks like it might be a garbled torch, and in the retail version it's even more messed up.

Re: Unused Citadel bits

(Those tile dimensions account for the mode 2 pixel doubling, so 32x is really 16x)

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Tile size: Damn, just checked my tilesets and yeh some of them were wrong. I'd assumed 20x16, but in my old rips some of them are like 32x16 (the grass/sand/ground tile) but looking closer it can be reduced to 20x8. Better start over on my wall tile rips. You mentioned it before but it didn't click....

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Yeh the theory is easy, but the actual list of bound-box coords would be a big faff to get manually, watching every room with baddies in slow-motion to get the movement nodes. But if it's purely cell-based instead of pixel-based then that definitely takes the edge off. I just checked and I think the...

Re: Unused Citadel bits

Did you decode the baddie/platform movement patterns? That's probably the main source of hassle in a pixel-perfect remake. Everything else can be eyeballed from a screenshot map and I've still got a fluctuating urge to remake it as well. The mummies with white eyes... I remember seeing it and thinki...

Re: Trying to Solve Spooksville

Damn, was hoping someone would know summit. I found the manual (I think) and the S object is the spell book, and you're supposed to find a scroll and a ring before you get it, and when you pick up the spellbook while carrying the scroll you teleport to a black unlit room but can't get anywhere from...

Yeh I used to do that with the barrel. This time I just scanned the memory for life points and locked it at 100 and just walked accross the water. Benefits of emulating.

Trying to Solve Spooksville

I never did finish Spooksville. I worked a few things out but now I'm mapping it and can't find a solution. Here's what I know. Fireball kills Frankenstein ['s monster] Dagger kills cannibal Holy water on grave kills graveyard thing Rope extends rope to lab Barrel helps you reach a few things Wand e...

Re: Unused Citadel bits

My gawd, Beeb people are clever. A modern native-rez version of the triangle cut-out stuff would be iffy. The lower the resolution the less exact coordinates have to be. Plus any variation in scale resolution throws it. It might work perfectly with the original vertices but I doubt it. What an inter...

Is this project worth it?

Would anyone be interested in an Infinity-ish game maker for the modern PC? Like, with a map editor, and a folder with image files and the text files containing the character's behaviour script... Like one would contain: Name Wall Solid Image wall1.png And one could contain: Name Spider Entity Deadl...

I have a full screenshop map but I think the screens are compressed to a smaller size and the colours seem a bit off, so I think it was from a different system. Any chance you could upload that? Or is it this one?: http://maps.speccy.cz/map.php?id=SagaofEriktheViking :?: Yeh, it's that one. Differe...

Re: Erik the Viking Question

Will check as had this BITD on tape, so probably the disc version, if exists.... When Lee and I were preparing the version of Erik that's now on bbcmicro.co.uk , I think we concluded that no Beeb disc version was ever released. Any disc versions that are out there are probably tape-to-disc hacks. I...

Not sure, but Return To Eden , also by Level 9, seems to have had a slideshow built in. Maybe there's a version of Erik out there with a similar slideshow? :?: Oh it was just like that! I'm sure it had a similar menu at the start where you could choose "pictures" now that I've seen this.....

In the olden days I had a copy of Erik the Viking but there was a way to just get a slideshow of the pictures instead of the game. Anyone know how to get that? Do I need a special copy? Cheeeeeeeeeeers.

The acronym AMX is familiar but I thiiiiink it was something to do with mouse support in my beeb's case.. And the only parameter it took was the character index to start the editor at.
