Re: Trivial Pursuit Young Players Edition

seems I had the 40T disc version (going by manual), hence the two discs, below for completeness. AFAIK the game was supplied on 2 disks... The first having drive 0 being 40 track and containing the game code. Once this is loaded, based on an earlier check, DRIVE 2 is issued to access DAT1-8 on the ...

how do you play this, does it have all the DAT1-8 files from the .WAV file/s from both sides of tape? usually with my normal version, I press 1 then Space, and off it then goes :? It's taken from the disk version. Select 1 - 8 then <SPACE> and it'll get the correct DAT? and run the game... unless t...

Using viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9061&p=115830#p115830 as a starting off point as potentially what the value of F07 and F0F were, I've managed to get this working... although the instructions on line 260 of START seem to be somewhat garbled!

From box SW164, mathemagical adventure. !BOOT PAGE=&7000:CHAIN"MENU" Which then decrypts the file based on values at F07 and F0F, part of the disc catalogue. Since it's not there, it's hard to figure out what it should be. START seems to be altered every 40th byte. ADV appears to be i...

I wonder if your FSDmaker prog would be able to help with that, BillC? Needs a Model B probably (8271 floppy controller, as you said). http://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13020&start=30#p169337 :?: It's untested on a BBC Master / any BBC with 1770 disk controller, but so lo...

Re: The Cambridge ABug software hacking/archiving thread

The original disk (that I've got, at least) loads the main program / title screen using OSWORD &7F shenanigans and also has an unformatted track to decide 40 or 80 track mode, when then switches to drive 2 for the DAT files.

Re: The Cambridge ABug software hacking/archiving thread

Should there be any disks with mismatched physical / logical tracks, you could try this *RUN FSD to load, then it transfers data just the same as UPURS. Needs an 8271 DFS to misread sector sizes. Should be a little faster than the previous version, which was terribly slow on Acorn DFS 0.9, since it ...

Re: Games that don't work in jsbeeb

Since the Master version of Dunjunz was Side B of the original disk, I decided to try Side A on jsbeeb with "BBC B" set as the model and it works fine.
I don't think that the version using sideways RAM was official, and as such I'm not entirely sure it's worth trying to get it working.

There's a file on the tape image called CUSTOM which allows you to do just that! I've done a quick tape to disk transfer. Files were originally *RUN, to maintain the PAGE at &E00, which then just did a PAGE=&E00 OLD RUN "No Room" error if CHAINed at &1900. Setting the PAGE to &...

Re: changing modes without data lose ?

Looking at the following http://mdfs.net/Docs/Comp/BBC/OS1-20/CA39 It appears that the MODE is being changed at &CB1D. This can be tested by A%=mode:CALL&CB1D At &CBF0 is the loop that clears all the memory, JMP (&35D), the contents of which varies depending which MODE is selected. I...
