Re: ABUG EAST MIDLANDS (Winter Warmer) 17-19 November 2017 (Leicestershire) BOOKING THREAD

Obligatory meal photo! Sadly it was taken a little too late to catch some folks (including John D, Andy B, Mark S and paulv - who it was really good to catch up with again!!). I managed to miss Phill HS (at the bar - where else? ;) ) too! Anyway, another top gathering, thanks Alex for organising - a...

I've just checked the server, the files are still there - part of the path is /wav/bbc/ not /wavs/bbc/ - I'm not sure how that got changed but I've fixed the links below so you should be good to grab them now ... Does anyone coming have a nice condition Electron case + keyboard that they could sell me? Or a complete machine in real good cosmetic condition, but with completely sha**ed beyond repair mobo*? ;) * = I'm sure DaveH would contest that there's no such thing as an Elk mobo that can't be repaired!! Re: London Show / Saturday 28th October 2017

Setting off in five mins (from Kensington), should be there around 8am. I've got a table for Retro Software and will be showing off Castle Raider running on an Electron w/ Mega Games cart and White Light on a BBC. I've also got the latest version of Kieran's Prince of Persia conversion for the BBC M...

If anyone Arcadian maybe? wants to have a version of PoP running on real Master hardware then let me know and I'll send you a new WIP disk image. Still a long way from being finished but definitely made a lot of performance improvements recently. Yes would love to, please send me an SSD image on Fr...

Hmm .. Stairway To Hell contained all manner of content - not just games but utils, music clips, hardware reviews, magazine scans etc ... Whilst the Complete BBC Games Archive is ... well, a complete BBC games archive. Nothing more, nothing less. It does exactly as it says on the tin and now that th...

Re: search and alternative versions

Personally I think it's fine as is - the shorter and catchier the better. The url contains the 'micro' portion of the nomenclature, which should make it clear enough to anybody within the retro circles (which are the target audience really). And there will already be a bunch of links to the site aro...

Re: "Beebon" magazines on 8bs

I remember when Mel Pullen (former Acorn contractor, who went on to co-found Soft Machinery) spoke at the Acorn World 09 event in Huddersfield, he continually referred to the computer as the Beebon throughout his talk; which gave me the impression that Beebon was an informal name used within Acorn. ...

I'd say no, because you might then be classifying games wrongly.

Agree with this! ^^

Re: Which games from other platforms did you wish was on the BBC?

I spent school holidays at an Aunts house, they had an Apple II clone (which I now own), there were many apple games I would dream about playing on the beeb and for which are part of a list that I would like to convert / clone / port one of these days. Do it!! :D Just checked out the videos for all...
