I think Acorn were still producing Model A's into 1984, so they can be any issue really ... I remember seeing an unmodified issue 7 'A' once many moons ago, on ebay ...

Re: Beeb Invanders - Niblesoft 1982

It's not a BASIC I <> BASIC II incompatibility is it? Lovely little game though. DA Computers is still going in Leicester I believe - I bought some RAM and a PC from there 2-3 years ago (that's one of the things that attracted me to put a bid in on the tape! ;) ). Thanks for the uploads and 'fix' Co...

Well, yes - they can go for £400-500, especially if they're completely unmolested, which this one may well be.

Re: LOLPRICE

Serial no is for a Model A...

There's a shot of the back of the machine but it's quite dark and I can't quite make out whether the rear connectors are present. But if it's an unmodified Model A that would make it rather desirable, even if it requires a little attention to make it 'go'.

Re: BBC Sub Hunt from Betasoft wanted

I'm not sure if we need to buy anything - all games are already available online? UEF and SSD of Battle of Britain already on STH. UEF for Subhunt may be decipherable from the WAV above (Peter? Col?). SSD for Blockade already on STH. DaveE has all three cassettes I believe and scans are on E.G.G. We...

Re: BBC Sub Hunt from Betasoft wanted

I don't have this any more, but here's a WAV file I recorded in April 2014: http://www.stairwaytohell.com/recordings/wav/SubHunt_Stereo.wav I don't think the recording was particularly good and IIRC I wasn't able to create a UEF using the old v0.3 software, so it might not be much use - but I'd be i...

We still need to get the dumps and summary across to Steve, Phill (note we only had permission to archive the discs on behalf of Steve and CFCH, we can't distribute them - as they did appear to contain personal files).

I seem to recall early releases of Level 9 text adventures had 300 baud copies recorded on the reverse sides?! I know a number of apps and utils from Gemini Software definitely did. Anyway Col, reckon you could grab a WAV of the 300 baud recording before the tape is moved on? Would it also convert t...

Sense this is going to be another favourite at the events, Richard!

Is it the intention to mimic the high score table from the coinop? I thought conversions that enabled you to enter high score initials with the dpad (or directional keys) and fire were really cool!!

If I view on Chrome I see the StarDot logo, but on Firefox I see the phpbb logo.

As I regularly use Chrome it might have the StarDot logo cached I guess ... ?!

Those Program Power tapes are definitely original Colin - I've seen loads like that, all from different sources.

I'd put the initial (low) bids in as placeholders when I spotted both listings but have just been outbid on both. I don't mind stepping aside as I don't keep BBC tapes any more once they've been preserved hence I don't bid anywhere near as much as I used to for missing stuff. Is someone else from St...

Re: MAME: Click (and other large ROMs)

Was thinking Solidisk ADFS Winchester hard drive emulation for the Elk (the Solidisk disk interface which contained the dual DFS/ADFS rom you've emulated also contained a 'Winchester' socket - basically a 1Mhz bus I think, that allowed you to hook up Solidisk's own Winchester drives).
