Re: Image sizes

Automatic image resizing is most welcome, and 1024x1024 sounds like a fair compromise to me. Re storage, I’d be more than happy to make a donation to help with that, and I’m sure that many others would be too! I suppose that there are ongoing storage costs for the forum though, rather than just one ...

Re: Add a second floppy to Archs without support (i.e. extra Gotek)

@tomc - I’ve recently made a 2nd floppy cable for an A4000, and it works nicely, the cable exits via the rear mini-podule case slot, connecting to a Gotek drive sitting on top of the case. I’ve sent you a PM with some details.

Good to know that re A3000s - David Holden’s article, linked to above, doesn’t specifically mention the A3000, presumably for this very reason!

Anyhow, I do have some spare 2nd floppy pcbs

Many thanks for the update - that’s great news! we have released the ESC/P2 conversion routine on https://github.com/RWAP/PrinterToPDF so that this can b...

Re: ECONET WOES

@AndyF - many thanks for the clarification regarding BeebEm and the user port RTC - I'd never noticed that option lurking at the bottom of the hardware menu! So, I just got lucky by running BeebEm's FS3-107 on real hardware without a user port RTC! I've now tested all the versions of the L3FS suppli...

Re: ECONET WOES

Thanks for confirming re BeebEm/L3FS/RTC - I had assumed BeebEm didn’t emulate the user-port RTC, and the version of L3FS-107 from BeebEm certainly runs fine on my Master without a user-port RTC, so it all makes sense.

Re: ECONET WOES

OK, well, after a few false starts, I've got the L3FS running on my BBC Master 128 (with Pi co-pro), and communicating with my BBC Model B. I used the L3FS disc images provided with BeebEm. I downloaded BeebEm from here http://www.mkw.me.uk/beebem/ , though I think that there has been further BeebEm...

Re: Simultaneous internet & mass storage solutions for the A3010

When I wrote a RISC OS driver for the CP2201 , I used the EtherY driver as a staring point. Once you've got functions to initialise the device and send and receive packets, it's not too difficult to wrap them in the way that RISC OS expects. Many thanks indeed for this pointer Rob! I’ve found your ...

Re: ECONET WOES

I’ve still not got around to trying L3FS on real hardware - I think I’ll start by trying it out on a model B with ADFS and a couple of FF Goteks - I just need to burn an ADFS EPROM. In the meantime, I came across this rather nice guide to running Econet file server software in BeebEm - http://recond...

The A3010 has a serial port, why not just use SLIP and the sort of lashup I've got in my bbc WiFi modem thread? No reason why not! :D Indeed, running TCP/IP over serial has already been mentioned on this thread. Your serial wifi project looks like a great way of exploring that option. I’ll certainl...
