Re: How do you save a screen

Good to hear feedback! Would be interested to see what a master with pitube co pro and videonula only version could do. I'm still pretty confident that I could stretch my abilities a little further a produce a similar program for the Master using ASM, but..., I do think that having more screen real ...

Re: How do you save a screen

One more update, I've added 2 gradient fills for horizontal and vertical rectangles, let me know what you think.

Still thinking about gradient fills, need to come up with some controls to specify start and end pattern, direction etc.

Re: How do you save a screen

Oh wow, this is really developing well, thank you so much for letting me help with making something useful for your amazing mode 2 artwork =D> I've made a few updates, including the new icons, I've used highlight boxes but I really like the way you've shaded the active tool so I might play with that...

Re: How do you save a screen

Started doing a few......I've made them 16x16 as it's a lot easier to cope with. We can scale them up. I want to make them Mode 2 looking! These look great =D> Could you possibly save them as BMP format? The JPG format introduces colour artifacts from compression and it's just not mode 2 enough

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R10 - Galaforce 2:Alien's Revenge

Is everyone busy practicing? Practicing yes, have gotten close to my previous high score but not quite in the zone. I noticed comments about certain bonuses on specific levels so I started to map out some of them... seems they aren't random at all and if your brain can keep up with the waves of ene...

Re: How do you save a screen

Will be exciting to see how it develops. just downloaded art4win - nice work! :) I like to think of it as a group effort, been a bit busy at work and home of late but I've been percolating an idea for the gradient fills and other tools and optimisations. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the...

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R10 - Galaforce 2:Alien's Revenge

Loving this game, could sit and listen to the autoplay song over and over.

As said above I tend to avoid the bonus block once I have rapid shoot, have been doing well on occasion only to get slow or reverse keys or no shoot and lose lives quick.

Re: High Score Challenge S7- R10 - Galaforce 2:Alien's Revenge

Starting to get the hang of it now, so many patterns to remember and some of them absolutely race around the screen. Anyone have stats or info about how many sprites this game engine is pushing to the screen as it seems like an impressive amount of moving objects at a fairly decent framerate? Can an...

Re: How do you save a screen

Maybe a too...

Re: How do you save a screen

Updated ART for portrait mode, not nearly finished but framework in place to get the ball rolling. Pixel can you try it on your tablet and see how it fits? Improved the line drawing speed and generally made the code more modular to support moving bits around. The tool strip is currently 100x500, too...

Re: How do you save a screen

I might try to design some icons this weekend and have a bit of a break from the painting...........might try designing a skin of some sort which could be fun......... Re: Tower Of Mystery (1984), COMPUTE!

Tower of Spaghetti code  Thanks for this I love poring over adventure game sources. I only noticed one goto that jumps out of a for loop at line 455 which could be easily remedied with the following: 455 IF C2$<>"" THEN I=L:GOTO 490 ...now to find time to play it

Re: How do you save a screen

I just noticed that pic Fourthstone. Those are accurate gradients fills in those circles ! :D I've practiced shading over the years but never quite refined the art so to speak, I usually mess up the perspective or lighting angle or scale in drawings I've attempted so I throw it away and start again...

Re: How do you save a screen

My tablet that I use ( sitting on my bed) is 1366x768....so slightly wider....it's much easier to hold it in portrait mode as it tends to rest on my lap and I put ART window to the top of the screen. Oh gosh, it's quite interesting to see how other people think about the UI :-k Would it help if the...

Re: How do you save a screen

Ah I see, well the current mode 22 gives 1024x768 plus borders and title bar so maybe I can reduce vertical size by about 32-40 pixels which will fix it for landscape mode but portrait mode might be more of a challenge, time for a think and thanks for the pics it helps to know how ur using it! P.S. ...

Re: How do you save a screen

I wonder how you got those fills going with the patterns. The mind boggles. I don't know how you did those patterns still. The great thing is it's all very straight forward basic code, the fill code is a standard(ish) line scan method and uses a list of X,Y list to store locations to come back to a...

Re: How do you save a screen

Just one more thing As Peter Falk would have famously said. Re: How do you save a screen

It would be nice to have a button 'filled' or non filled later.... I thought about ways to do this, how would you be imagining the non-filled to be drawn? Quick update, had a chance to re-factorize the ART source to be more flexible with adding new controls and easier moving (certain) things around. Re: High Score Challenge S7- R9 - Blast!

Great vid Ed, I'm pretty much playing the same as you although your thrust control seems a bit finer in tricky spots whereas I tend to over or under steer or thrust and then need to compensate a bit more... practice practice. Level 3 on gets insanely hard, I haven't made it to the last level in you ...
