Have a look on here: http://jaspp.huber-net.de/ All the stuff released by JASPP, they have rights to distribute. There's nothing for the Arc like stairway to hell, or world of spectrum - lots of people still enforce their rights. A bit of judicious googling will throw some more - I'm a little reluc...

Re: Archi noob has many questions...

1. Is there anywhere a usermanual for A410 and A3000 online? I have none. 2. Is there anywhere a usermanual for RISC-OS 3 online? I have only a book RISC-OS 2 (from 1989) Look here: http://chrisacorns.computinghistory.org.uk/docs/Acorn/Manuals/ E.g. the A3010 Welcome Guide is for RO3.1 obviously. T...

You need to find a flex ATX or small type PC PSU but you will need to find one that has a Minus -5 Volt line on the ATX connector, some PC's psu have this wire missing this is usally a white wire on the PC side and the Purple one on the original Acorn PSU. Is the -5V voltage needed for anything els...

I've never been very interested by software on the Archies using serial port protocols or whatever, so my question is what kind of software could I use on an Archimedes connected to an Archimedes running QDBug to use this functionality ? ArcTerm ? Some others, shareware or public domain, you could ...

Re: Stupid question about SCSI and IDE podules

Would a hard drive working with the Acorn SCSI podule work directly with the Cumana's ? Yes, as long as you only use the first partition (Acorn SCSI only supported one partition anyway, IIRC). In fact I don't understand how many layers there are with these podules, what is software, what is hardwar...

Re: Stupid question about SCSI and IDE podules

Hello. I've just repaired my A540. It has a Cumana SCSI podule. I don't understand why to get my SCSI hard drive recognized by RISC OS, I simply have to launch the !Configure built-in app and add a SCSI hard drive. With IDE podule it doesn't work this way. Would that mean that the SCSI 'handling' i...

Ok so I've got this nice German RPC with RO 3.50, but how can I tell it it's got a CD ROM drive ? In the configuration panel, there's no CD ROM choice, and status doesn't report any CDFS module ... I'm a bit lost. After the Archies I must admit it has started to be too complicated for me ... #-o CD...

256 MB, though I have a vague memory that RISC OS won't actually work if RAM is maxed out. RISC OS works fine, but it can lead to address exhaustion sooner than with less memory if applications allocate dynamic areas with size "as much as possible" and no DA clamp is in place. There were ...

RISC OS is currently not suitable for serious web browsing, no matter what hardware you use. Connecting a RISC OS machine to WLAN needs special hardware (something that plugs into LAN and is capable of providing a WLAN client). Using RISC OS for E-Mail needs (if IMAP access is needed) commercial sof...

Re: A3010 question on disk images.....(mostly)

Provided you set the file type to Floppy they will be opened by ADFFS. There's no requirement to remove the /JFD suffix, ADFFS internally strips off the PC file extension so that disc swapping still works. Oh! Didn't know that - was that a recent change? I know I had to strip the "extension su...

ARM3 support was added in RISC OS 2.01, but I am fairly sure that this was only "detect and switch on cache", so 2.00 would also work, but with cache disabled (and hence even a bit slower than an ARM2).
