I have finally managed to get to a beeb and install an SD card reader and it actually runs quite well! [-o< Certainly somewhat better than BeebEm which presumably more accurately reflects the disc drives of the day.

No light means no correct supply of power. Even a non booting pi should have a red light.

Good point. In the orientation of the photo the notch at the beeb end is on the top. Will try and get a photo later.

Having just moved I have unpacked (mostly) my beeb stuff - I plugged in and switched on my pi3 co proc last night and the beeb hung at boot up. Below is a photo of my co proc. It has been so long since I first set it up is it still jumpered correctly? It should be powered by the beeb. A50A2EA1-A6B7-...

I have some of them as well, and you could still by new old stock of these a couple of years ago from DCP. I think they are basically the same thing from memory. Will have to go find them. Thanks. I got mine from the original suppliers a few years back but never got round to doing anything with it....

FFS, not another, wondered why my laptop is taking forever :x "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803" , 0% for last 20mins :( I think I had that one earlier in the week. What I like is the way the progress indicator doesn’t move for ages making you wondering if it has hung. :shock:

Hmmm.

Download the SSD from this link as I know it works:-

Open it in FSM and drag one of the files out to a folder. Rename it and then try and drag it back in again.

Can you drag any files at all into the FSManager (FSM) program? Presumably you have opened an SSD image using FSM and then are dragging and dropping a ROM file? Is the opened SSD on your SD card or just a separate image on your PC? It may be worth creating a new SSD image on your PC (file \ new from...

I have a copy of that version of Elite. I shall stick it in a bag and put it for £450! My memory is pretty hazy but buying a copy of Elite was a big deal and I thought it was shrink wrapped - pretty sure I had to unwrap it in the car on the way home. But not 100% sure.
